Haha I highly advised her against it…but in the end I said it’s your car and I’m not cleaning them! I was trying to get her to powder coat her factory wheels black and go that route, she wanted to at first and we even got a second set of take offs for $200 to send out. After a year of her contemplating she decided to go this route…so yeah, we will see how it goes!

Personally not my favorite. But as long as your wife likes it…
At least she’s got a 4R so her tastes are better than most

Truth! I totally agree. I wouldn’t have made this choice, I was thinking black or bronze.

    I love bronze wheels.
I wish mine came with bronze wheels like the ones @Borracho Loco has on his 40th anniversary.
If someone wants to trade theirs for mine I would 100% do it

If you ever get a chance to drive a 6th gen 4runner gas only model, drive at highway speed. The engine noise is very interesting.. More interesting than the new hybrid Land Cruiser..:D:p

I'm waiting to see what the new 4runner mpg's are compared to Toyotas estimate. So far the Land Cruiser seams to be slightly less than Toyota estimates.

Took the Runner wheeling on Monday.
    Post here: https://www.4runners.com/threads/5th-gen-4runners-in-scenic-locations.7967/page-153#post-700187

Also, just now installed LED high beam 9005 replacements from Lasfit. We'll see how they do once I can check them out somewhere really dark. I already have their low beams and it was a huge improvement and they seem to be not blinding oncoming traffic. I've been flashed 2 or 3 times out of literally thousands of oncoming cars.

FYI for anyone not aware, you can access more than $1 of points but just not at one fill up. Any excess points will still be there for subsequent fill ups later within the same month.
I did not realize this for some time and would get lackadaisical about accumulating points after I hit $1. Now my wife and I fill up twice a month and suck up as much savings as we can.

100% Glow in the dark or just the top lip?

Yikes, I'm only a one printer operation...

3D printing has come a long ways, its amazing what (more) complex shapes can be created.

Just playing around with 'hard' (PETG) material, just printed the same model out of TPU which is about as flexible as the OEM rubber insert. Nothing fancy, didn't have time to 'tune' the print so it's a bit rough but totally serviceable! Note these are created by reverse engineering, I do have scanners but it was a fairly simple process to just use calipers to take a few measurements. Also sized internally to be able to hold a larger water bottle that's too small to fit snugly without an insert.

L-R (OEM, Red PETG, Black TPU)

Swapped out the factory Pro rims and BFG mudders for a set of Method 705 bead grips and 285/70R17 AT KO3s.

I've noticed that on certain print thicknesses that the glow doesn't last, nor is that bright, as for thicknesses greater than what these cup holder inserts are (2-3 mm)

Ordered AJT radio and climate control knobs. Why you may ask? The dog wanted me to get new ones. Looked all over the inside for the tuning knob. He didn’t get the A/C knob. Finally found the tuning knob this morning in a little brown pile. Pic of perp.

Honestly the majority of times when I design things I do it by rough outlining then adding in details. Scanning has its points, faster generation of models, more intricate details that would take a ton of time to measure out by hand....I use scan model files mainly for fit checking a design.

i got rid of the halogens recently on my wifes Mazda CX5 and replaced the low and highbeams with Lasfit LAair series. OMG they are amazing, I cant believe how shitty thise halogens were and they were the brightest Sylvania ones available. The lows are amazing and the highs are super bright and cast light wide and far. Great for dark back roads.

Wow. Thats pretty bad and not even close to the EPA estimates. That should be considered false advertising. The 5th gen is consistent at 17 mpg every year on fuelly. Right in the middle of the EPA estimate.

    Doittttttttttt

just do the research on how to install. Some vehicles are very difficult to get to the headlights. My friend had one. I think it was a Mazda five I read the instructions, and it started with remove bumper.!
