What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Interestingly enough, I almost had a @Borracho Loco incident today. Luckily was driving the wife's JGC with BSM so it alerted me that someone was changing lanes into me as I was changing lanes. I swear they didn't have a turn signal on when I checked over the shoulder, but they did when they ended up in that lane, and didn't turn it off for a bit. They later changed lanes again, with no signal. I'm convinced they turned it on when they almost hit me to be like "look, my signal WAS on". Luckily the BSM went off and was able to swerve back into my lane.

 

The only KFC in my town shut down a few years ago, just reopened in a new and improved location like a phoenix from the ashes..a delicious phoenix.
Drove the 4R there for the family variety bucket!


And stopped at the beer store crucial supplies
chopping exhaust pipe tonight so it exits to the side and down.

That's what I was thinking when I first read Loco's post, his swerve episode!

 

Got told I need inner and outer tie rods before I cab get my alignment done. Doing it all myself because who has $1500 to take it to a shop. Only cost $250 to do it yourself.

 

and I installed a BriteBox Anytime with the OEM-style button.

My 2021 has the new fuse box though so I couldn’t use an add-a-fuse like I intended since I was not prepared for any cutting or whatnot. Direct 12v connection for power and I just gotta hope I don’t forget it’s on ever!

 

Drove the 2011 to pick up some local honey.

It was a shame I had to replace mine only cuz the jam nut backed off (should stay locked in position) and all threads stripped. I had work done in my 4wd shop couple times, tans subsequently I din notice the jam nut on the move.

I'll look forward to any updates on this. I am considering the same. I'd like to firm up the ride from stock but not looking to lift. (at least not yet) I need to get a lot more wheeling under my belt with this gen before I can decide what/if I may need to change.

Today was the day, and boy is my back and feet feeling it.

So glad to be done with the XREAS, literally only 1 front shock had any pressure to the system, all others even though not visible, apparently were leaking or depressured, which is weird since my understanding was it worked in cross cross pattern.

Installed the Bilstein 5100s in the rear, the take off rear springs and front strut spring combo I picked up from @Spare Parts from his 2022 orp.

Sadly got to take the maiden voyage and then before I could get any pics of my handiwork it decided to open the floodgates and downpour.

But already felt much better and dialed the alignment in as best I could with my preset marks on the tabs.

Next step will be a full alignment and a stop by discount tire for rotate/balance/air pressure/ road force balance to square everything away.

Then to list all the leftover parts for whoever needs them next.

 

Been through a number of times when I needed some lighting in the wheel wells, first step is to make some mounting frames for the new Rock Lights.

 

I guess it would depend. Do you want to impersonate law enforcement? Or impersonate a Highlander?
