Surprised the hell out of a boy racer in a supra... Or BMW. He had lots of stickers and was burning a bit of coolant.

I took the beast to the wash today at lunchtime. It was a beautiful day despite the breeze -- a good day to wash off last weekend's gunk.

    Two hour later... rain. Ugh.

Drove 300 miles in and around the city . I had forgotten how slow, under powered and noisy this thing is.
But that magic carpet ride is probably the best this side of the S class. It soaks every road imperfection with ablomp.

Shout out to whichever one of you handsome devils or devil-ettes that had this idea for the spare battery location (until needed). Long story short, we stalled on getting the refrigerator long enough that the dog crate took most of its space so we don't need the extra battery until we do a little redesign. Excellent use of space for a small tool kit etc.

I considered this down the road after paint takes a beating. What’s a ballpark price for this work? Less than or greater than 5k?

Had this beast installed earlier this week, can’t wait to use it on the trail.

Next I’m wanting to get yellow or amber fog lights. Seems like Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro gets a lot of good reviews. Anyone have these and have any input, pros, cons or regrets? Are the Pro version legal? Is there a better Amber colored fog light?

All coats complete and stowed and “cooking” in a nice warm closet…. I decided to add 2 coats of truck bed-liner on the outer rails to add some grip. Will be installing tomorrow evening… on shift

I think it’s an unwritten rule that when you work from home for the day it’s acceptable to work on the truck for 1 hour

I have the pros in yellow. They're fantastic. They're SAE compliant but there's a LOT of light scatter and I wouldn't use them in traffic. I treat them as I would a high beam. They light up tree tops 30 feet in the air. The cutoff is obvious but there's a lot of light above the cutoff, as well.

They're a great supplement to the low beams on dark country roads, lighting up the ditches. A lot wider beam pattern than stock.

In bad weather conditions (snow, fog) run them like a typical fog light. In normal conditions, treat them as you would a high beam (ie. turn them off when traffic approaches).

    Which truck bed-liner you choose?

Just the Rustoleum Truck bed liner- cheap but I did coat them with 3 cans of flat back… so they’re well coated

I run the Pros and they are awesome. SAE but I do tend to treat them as high beams. Up in Maine they are better than highbeams for spotting deer etc on the sides of the road. They really work amazing. Awesome in inclement weather. Complete game changer. I got them on sale from 4Runner Lifestyle, but of course 2 weeks after I got them the price dropped even more for BF. They are my best mod to date.

Keep us posted on the ARB compressor. I'm tempted to add one myself. Did you add the small air tank under it? No air tank?

I have amber SS3 sports; they don't bug oncoming traffic and they're much better than stock for spotting suicidal coyotes, boars, nilgai, etc. in the shoulder brush.

Got the OTT last week; the difference is quite subtle coming from a good throttle controller (Banks) but shifting is more composed. It behaves "normal" now instead of me occasionally wondering why it's holding 3rd gear on a flat grade.

@Klinsman55 "Next I’m wanting to get yellow or amber fog lights. Seems like Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro gets a lot of good reviews. Anyone have these and have any input, pros, cons or regrets? Are the Pro version legal? Is there a better Amber colored fog light?"

I've been running the DD Amber Pros for almost 2 years now. They are awesome in rain and fog. I have them aimed all the way down. Hoping to add the Brite box anytime fogs this Spring.

@Klinsman55 the sports won't melt snow, if that's an issue for you. The pros will melt snow.

The sports have a much better cutoff (not as much bleed above the cutoff). Overall the pros are brighter.

MinWin cubby “installed.” I have switch panel for the top or else I would have gone with a cubby there too. I chose this brand because they incorporate magnets to keep them closed.

Didn’t know these had magnets, i will have to check them out. Never loved the idea of just a 3D print wedged in there.

I believe the only ones with magnets. Others are friction fit.

It’s a poorly done space by Toyota.

I'm messing around with the design software and going to be making these and also cup holder spacers for common cups etc. definitely going to use magnets as well.

can you leave the Sport SS3s on during regular street driving with on coming traffic? sounds like from what several people have commented on for the Pro’s it’s street legal but very bright and best to turn off with oncoming traffic (which would kinda be a pain to try and turn it on and off if im driving up a foggy or snowy mountain road and there’s cars coming the other direction every 5-10 seconds)
