I replaced our reverse lights with Diode Dynamic XPR lights that I ordered from Black Friday... They are a little pricey, but appear to be the best in it's class.

There was a blurb on Diode Dynamic's website that said they wouldn't be compatible with TRD Pro and TRD ORP (for some reason?) and I rolled the dice. No issues at all and I'm glad I pulled the trigger.

drove the toddlers to daycare & preschool
removed door decals, it was difficult
-I dig the clean look
picked kids up from school in 4R

 

Very little noise so far

Luckily they’re covered above cutline.

 

How are they? I've been meaning to look into this. Reverse lights suck. Would recomend?

 

Ended up ordering the new Morimoto Evos. I’ll get the replacement driver side from Alpharex then sell them off.

Some Simpson strong tie bracket(thicker than usual ones)

Anyone who has a cheap eBay awning knows what this is…surprisingly tough, some kinda hardened steel
Cut to “specs”
Lowered horns(which somehow made their balls raise…now it sounds like shadie dog toy)
Also, shaved some of the radiator support(was going to mount inside/behind rim but this was easier n reduced tension)
Dunno why I didn’t take a pic of all hardware mounted but the thing(1 of 2, just made the second today…prime/paint) is sturdy…which will lead to ? for you people
How it kinda will sit…had to make sure the plug wouldn’t get knocked TFO with the angle of the hood…should sit ~1.5” below plastic cover thingie
Room for new wires on the other side, even the 2/0 I’m getting into once I figure out how to crimp by myself or wait for Mommadukes to visit again n hold in place(she loooves being a part of this crap)

So the question/concern is, putting these 2 “brackets” in this position…accident happens, will this really effect crush design?
Second edit: I could add more holes to the bracket brace?

I feel like Diode Dynamics makes a good product, but I'm not a fan of the price (these are expensive). I wanted quality so I bought them and I'm happy I did. Time will tell how reliable they will be. I'm glad I bought them.

I used Super Bright LED in the past and I had quality issues with those and they felt cheap.

 

Looks like they may have changed the design, but i've been running a set since 2019. One of my 1st "mods".

 

Anyone got photos in reverse at night

 

Would you say there is significant added brightness? Can you see a lot more?

My stock back up light suck.

 

If i can remember, i will take one in the morning. It was a noticeable difference over stock.

Sirius 921 LED on Amazon are like $15/pair. Significant added brightness? No. Are they brighter than stock? Yes. Worth the $15 in my experience.

I also put Sylvania Zevo LED's in the license plate lights and I think the increased brightness actually adds a little more light to the backup camera, as well.

 

I also have the diode dynamics back up lights. Night and day difference from the stock bulbs. I can actually see now.

ive had the sirius 921's in for like 5 years. nice boost to brightness for reverse. have not had an issue with them at all

 

Just finished oil and filter change.....greased the driveshafts......checked the boots......all fluids under the hood are good......wiped 'er down under the hood and reset the maintenance clock and done! Time for a soda!
