What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

LEDs should last thousands of hours, no?
I bet it’s your illumination wire t-tap failing to make proper contact all the sudden. I have three or four aftermarket dash switches, none burnt out yet. It’s obviously possible it burnt out cuz their so cheap.

 

I decided to get one of those nifty little badges. But I decided to place it on the left side of the grill to match the curves of bumper and grill better.

 

I get less slippage by climbing ramps in 4Lo.

 

Used my weather tech sunshades almost everyday since buying them. I’ve noticed some bubbles forming already…

@ $200 it’s not really worth it if it’s gonna bubble up in less than a month. Even with their lifetime warranty

 

Bolted - they rock sliders look very robust.

 

And yet my key fob that lives in my pocket 90% of the time doesn't work half of the time.

 

What was the install like? Where did you put the amp?

 

Now that's it's washed, I touched up the damage I fucked up on the Gobi, and have my new awning brackets... got the rack reinstalled and the awning back up. Now I'm waiting on that cooler camping weather!

Detailed mine inside except the windows. It’s been too hot but was only 80 at daylight. Was done in an hour or so. I forgot how much I love it clean.

 

Washed all the bugs guts off the front of the '23. Can't be very many bugs left around here.....I think I got 'em all!

Added 2 x 100W Ecoworthy solar panels to the RTT. Laying flat in my driveway I was able to get 180W for almost 3 hrs today. The nerd in me loves this stuff. My panels are 2 yrs old, and used to have them leaning against my shed wall.

 

So @ 69.20% & 9+hrs to fully charge, does it take 30hrs to fully charge or does it take 3hrs per %10? Just curious because I have not looked into or done any real research on solar panels. (I didn't make the size of these emoji's either BTW)

 

I'm curious as to how durable solar panels are to impacts. Hail storms are kind of common where I live.

 

My fwd drive cars don't have slippage problems on smooth concrete just the rwd. I took a yoga mat and cut it in half and put the ramps on top of the mats. No longer slips but 4wd having front tires grab I hadn't thought of.

Got the hard liners for the rear compartment yesterday. May install today after work & cutting the grass. Will have pic of final installation

 

Ordered ARB skid plates and perry parts front/rear bump stops. Trying to decide on which rock sliders and tire carrier.

 

Filled up with gas this morning!

 

Noticed the driver side C pillar badging is "loose". Specifically the off and road are both somewhat no longer firmly attached. Debating if I just want to remove the C pillar badges altogether.

 

Maybe someone in a parking lot tried to pull it off ?

 

I wanted to rebadge mine as an SR5 Off Road but it wasnt me

For anyone wanting LED interior lighting upgrade... I've had great luck with the Sylvania Zevo's from any big box or auto parts store. They're not mind blowingly bright like some kits out there. But they're good quality bulbs. And better quality than a lot of the LED's/kits on Amazon.

 

Completely agree. I did the same on mine, perfectly happy with the sylvania led bulbs.

 

Just had these put on 30 min ago. 255/75R17. Better pictures to come

initial Impression on way home, wobble when around 60-70mph.

Road noise slightly less or same as stock

ride quality same as stock to slightly firmer but they put tire pressure at 40-42PSI

I got back on highway to recheck wobble and seemed less noticeable. Does wobbles usually go away after few hundred miles? They said they balanced them.

 

Sounds like the infamous 60-65 steering wheel shake that is common with the 4R/Tacoma. I've had it on mine since new and I'm all stock tires/suspension(At 10k Mi currently). One common fix is the ECGS bushing that replaces the needle bearing. Some have had luck getting a road force balance though.

Edit: I now see you have a Limited, so needle bearing/ECGS won't be a thing for you.
