Everyone on the planet knew what was meant and no clarification would ever be required for this.

Furthermore the definitions of words change over time per how they are used. I submit that a preponderance of the population use wheel and rim synonymously and thus we need to accept the definition. Most words have multiple definitions and that's ok. You need to get with the times. Bro.

Thanks dude! Unfortunately in my desperation to get this done, and when I was unable to pass the aftermarket rear camera cable through the hatch, I cut the camera cable and then crimped it back together. Doesn't work but I have a 2nd cam that was going to be for the front. So here's a pic with jumpers trying to test if I just had the wires wrong but I can't get the camera to work.

In order to get the camera in the factory location I epoxied it in place. So I just ground out all the epoxy and am about to epoxy this second cam in place but I won't be cutting the cable to pass it through the hatch. Maybe I'll grease it up.

I think once this done I'll get back to putting more dynamat on plastics and will be able to pit I'll together.

Figured out why aftermarket cameras that weren't working. Got that fixed.

Swapped vents and hazard button from Metra dash kit that came scratched to a better looking one.

Removed aftermarket rear camera from the stock camera mount. "Gluing" a new one in with gasket maker - guna see how this goes but i can't figure out another way to mount the camera in the stock location. And I really want it in the stock location. New backup cam is a Kenwood CMOS 740HD

First two pics are old cam. Third pic is gasket maker drying with new cam. Not my prettiest work, but you can't see it when installed.

So, quick question: do these grey plastic pieces at the bottom of the front fenders ACTUALLY serve a purpose or can they be removed without affecting anything?

These new rims have a -12mm off set with an 1.5 inch wheel spacer all 4. There is some rubbing and curious if taking them off would affect anything else? Or strictly decorative.

It’s a good feeling to enjoy and like what you own and drive. I take random pictures of my two cars from time to time myself. Great looking Solar 4Runner. I need to add some center cap stickers to my rear wheels. IMG_4129.jpg

they just cover the pinch weld. I cut mine a little so they stopped rubbing. Not structural at all. Purely cosmetic.

    Thank you TRD panther!
I agree I like taking pictures of my vehicles. Your 4runner looks great also. I’m proud of owning all of my vehicles and have worked hard over the years to enjoy them. Now that I’m retired I don’t foresee buying another 4runner or another Vette in the future. Even the wife is happy with her vehicle she don’t even want another one.

I've been corresponding with a member in your area about picking up a 5th OR wheel, tire, & TPMS for my spare. I'm not sure how it all works on the pre-2020 models (mine is a 2019) when you have a 5th TPMS sensor. When the spare gets mounted in a useable location, does the added TPMS get recognized automatically, or is there a procedure like what you are describing on your 2022 that needs to be followed...? My year model does not display the individual tire pressures.

I bought a 5th wheel for a spare and installed an old school valve stem. Truck doesn't seem to know the difference. 2018 SR5. I did have the low pressure light come on recently, but it was the spare that was low. Not sure how it would react with 5 sensors.

So when your low pressure light came on recently, it was the spare (with no TPMS) that was low?

Do you know if a sensor has to be on a rotating wheel in order for the system to recognize it?

They are Shrockworks angled up steel sliders. They were very popular, but recently went out of business a year or two ago. I am tall with longer legs, so I don’t use them as a step. My 10 year old son uses them without issue and my small wife uses them with the grab handle. Not a design for someone who would need to utilize a step to get in though.
Other manufacturers make wider angled up sliders with step plates on top, which may work good for you.

No, the sensor does not have to be on a rotating wheel for the system to monitor the pressure. At least that’s the case on my ’19 Limited.

At that point in the tire rotation schedule the spare had a TPMS. The old school valve was on the truck. Seems that the tire does not need to be rotating.
