Traded in my white 23 ORP for a 24 silver LE.

    Will take some better pictures.

1st will need running boards. Anyone recommend some that don’t hang down so low? I’ve seen some posts that say to use SR5 bracket and running board b/c the bracket hangs down less. I’ve seen some recommended a N-Fab nerf step kind that supposedly hangs down less.

2nd will be windshield and front side window uv block.

3rd possibly hood and bumper PPF

4th TRD pro wheels and 255/75r17 AT tires

    5th amber LED fog lights

Your concept drawing sort of reminds me of this drawing.

    My personal opinion -

    1st will need running boards.
    - I dislike running boards on 4Runner Limited. They look ugly to me. I prefer Automatic running boards, but may not be as reliable. Mine are working for 5 years but who knows when they might fail?

2nd will be windshield and front side window up block.- Are you talking about tint? In the past I did 70% 3M crystalline tint on my windshield and it was too dark to my taste driving at night. For my 4Runner I did 90% 3M crystalline tint and it was perfect for me. For sure at night nothing better than any tint. For the 2 front I asked the tint shop to match the rear. But in summer I wish I go little darker yet I don't want illegal level of darkness.

3rd possibly hood and bumper PPF - I dislike the PPF installed by Toyota dealer on my previous car as it got yellowish with time. That car was white so it was little ugly. I have AVS bug shield on my 4Runner and so far no complaints.

4th TRD pro wheels and 255/75r17 AT tires - I'm not a fan of TRD Pro wheels and skinny tires. I like wider TRD offroad wheels and to my eyes they really match a Silver 4Runner. I specifically picked TRD offroad wheels because they meet the spec to run bigger tires. As stock I would much prefer P265/70R17 tires to complement the look of 4Runner.

5th amber LED fog lights - I dislike amber lights are they have less light output than white. I can also run white on daily basis without annoying other drivers. And stock white TRD Pro fog lights works pretty well on foggy conditions so far with my experience. (Fog lights are little different from trim to trim). Changing fogs on a Limited is not easy as SR5/TRD ORP. For my Limited that came with halogen fog lights I changed to TRD Pro like fog lights.

@djwantke finally got it in the shop TODAY to get rims put on. Also getting an alignment while at it. Steering wheel had a small wobble while driving I've noticed over past few weeks. Will post pics after I get Casper back.

If you want to try reaching the Springs let me know when and which channel and I would be happy to hop in my rig and see if I can hear you. Are you by chance on the Pikes Peak 650 repeater? That would boost our chances of a successful radio check.

AVS, ordered from RealTruck. very easy install, uses preexisting holes on the bittom lip of the hood. If I had to do it again I would also apply PPF to the areas that touch the hood bc I did chip the paint in a few places.

im curious as well. It’s been done many time with no issues.
Is it easier to replace everything than welding a 3 bolt flange? Yes, but that’s the reason we go to an exhaust shop. If I replaced everything I wouldn’t need to pay someone to install it. How much are they charging you? Maybe they’re just being lazy and want easy money by bolting instead of cutting and welding?

Installed screen protector, front seat "covers" in Leather. Not a full cover because of air bags? Metal clips at the from side bottom of the seat was a real pain,
amazing engineering on the bottom seat construction. Hardly any place to attach metal clips to secure front portion of the seat cover. Ordered new rear seat protector from Amazon. Neoprene waterproof, have the airing out...not sure if I like them. Might go with cloth "dog cover" style. No dogs anymore, wife can toss her workout stuff on the backseat, etc.
Researching if I can add puddle lights or miso lights to the doors, maybe tailgate lights (2024 SR5)

The senior tech (may be the owner) said the side exhaust will not be quiet as the factory rear exhaust. It's the first time I went to that shop so don't really know if that's the real reason or if there is a valid reason that may not be politically correct to a customer like 'cut and weld is not reliable and long lasting as entire cat back' or cut and weld takes too much time and effort and not profitable to the shop.. or just been lazy. But that relatively older gentleman looked like a genuine person. So not sure. The shop was well equipped though. It had multiple lifts, different welding and other equipment, etc..

Since they wanted to do the entire cat back I didn't ask for a price for labor as I was thinking I could do it myself.

    Edit -
The tech I talked to did say that he could bend the rear exhaust little towards the side. But won't be close to the side exhaust look.

I dont know for sure if its as quiet or not as I ve never gone back to back between mine and a regular 4R but from what I remember being in my friend’s ORP last year, it sounds the same (he moved out of state so I can’t try it anymore). its insanely quieter than before the mod. Honestly, I can barely hear the exhaust.
If you ever come to the phoenix area you’re more than welcome to come in my truck for a ride to see how it sounds

Thank you. I will take my 4R to few more shops and get their opinion as well. If I did keep the side exhaust may be I will buy a real sound measure tool and compare between my stock Limited exhaust vs modified TRD Pro exhaust. Last time I just compared with an app on one of my android tabs.

New wires everywhere except a small portion of the rear door speakers - I tapped into the plug in the A-pillar but there's new wires on either side of that plug. I'm not sure the best way to run wires to the roof. Seems like you would need to cut the rubber going between the hatch and the cab and now that's less weather proof but I'm not 100% sure what exactly people are doing to this area. I kinda want to run wires for roof rack lights there too.

The plastic is from here. They also have switch pods that are worth checking out for the center dash.

Hello Jeff, I don’t know which repeater I am on, first radio installed mostly just handhelds. I appreciate the offer and would love to try the link-up. Today I am heading into the Springs to go on a trail drive with the Colorado Springs Christian 4wheelers group.
Two options Dakan road for an easy drive or China Wall near lake George. My wife and I just moved here last August and don’t know many people or any trails. Looking forward to seeing this beautiful country. Maybe Sunday afternoon we can try reaching out.

Installed an OME lift & UCAs on the wifes 4runner. Waiting to get the wheels back so I can wrap it up.
Overall, very easy and straight forward. Only spot I needed an additional hand was the passenger side UCA getting the strut in. Excluding breaks, probably have 4 hrs in it, and will have 1 more hour today to go thru and re-torque everything, install wheels and close the KDSS valves. only thing I would do differently is removal of the tie rods would have made getting the strut in much easier.

@djwantke scratch that. Had to put that on hold. Shop couldn't get to it until next week. Just my luck.

Where'd you find the black buttons that go in the silver pillar part?

Removed 3rd row seats this morning.
Not hard only like 8 bolts and lift right out.

But what in the shit did I just find petrified under the seat?!
