I see bugs on your windshield, does that mean it kinda works or doesn’t work? How’s the fit and install?
    Thx

Thanks for the reminder. I need to grab one of these. We have one (different brand) in my wife's car, but I want to keep one in the 4Runner so I don't have to worry about remembering to get it from her car before I head up into the mountains.

I just installed it today. I've been dealing with bugs for a while now.*laughs*

Fitment is really good and the install is dead simple.

    It doesn’t disappoint.
I purchased the NOCO Boost XL GB50 1500 Amp back in 2021 and it’s worked as expected each time of use. A solid accessory.

I also picked up the NOCO GBC017 Boost XL EVA Protection Case made for the GB50, and the NOCO NUSB211NA 10W USB Power Adapter.

It looks good, just ordered one. Seems like a good alternative to paint protective strip for the hood with the benefit of stopping some flying friends.

I've used the non screened Roadhouse and it's just okay... When I first got it I was pretty excited as it seemed like a sweet setup for $100 (2018). But...there's a lot going on with it. After a half dozen trips I gradually realized it's kind of a pain to set up in the wind, or dark, or solo; and draping it over the hatch as designed is surprisingly inconvenient for using the cargo area or closing the hatch door after you have set up the tarp. It's also inconvenient to set up only briefly, like for an hour at a lunch break. Putting it away in the morning all dewy was aggravating, too, because unlike a tent or an awning you really couldn't dry it off or shake it off due to its size. I found its best application to be if you have two vehicles in camp and stretching it between them - but even then it always seemed like an answer in search of a question.

Definitely put it up a few times to demo it and try different placements on the vehicle other than over the hatch.

I hope you like it. Ultimately I decided I didn't, and went with an awning instead which, while smaller, is supremely more useful.

My buddy had the screened version and he came to same conclusion after a few trips with it. I have not seen him use it since about 2020....

I just want to throw out there not to forget to include some safety glasses with the jump box. I store mine together so I never forget to put them in if I have to use it.

They are a chore to set up and tear down, especially with the screen. @MeefZah is correct, they definitely don't work everywhere and they are not a lunch time thing. We only use ours when we are stopping for a while. We got rid of our rooftop tent for the same reason, we didn't like be stuck setting it up and taking it down to drive somewhere during the day. I bought another set of poles and stakes and I keep the slumber "up" if we leave and are using it then back into it when we are back.

Good input. Thanks. Basically going into this the same way you did. For not a lot of money, it seems ok. I'll play around with it this summer and see how it goes.

I echo @MeefZah and @MyWyfsRnnr in that the Slumberjack tarp is not something easily setup for say a quick lunch stop. If I'm staying someplace for a few days, I'll set it up. What I do like about it, is how large it is, and how it helps provide a good shade footprint as well as a good dry footprint when it rains. I have been looking to get a second set of poles for it so I could set it up in a stand alone fashion. You can use just the two poles for a stand alone option, but I think that limits the space below it.
Here is a setup from last fall.

Forgot my old crappy one a few days ago and went to use the inverter to charge the dogs e-collar and remote, forgot to start the truck up and run it and of course the battery was dead when we tried to get out before the rain/sleet/snow came. I ordered one as soon as I got back and it was on sale on Amazon

Nice mods, and cool decal. Tho I’m puzzled by the 3:00 o’clock image. Beehive, rock cairn, coiled rattlesnake, or dog turd?

Thanks @HighSierraGuy! It’s a Dobinson 2 inch lift on 275’s. The details, my thought process, and guidance from @Crikeymike can be found in this thread: https://www.4runners.com/threads/seeking-lightweight-options-for-overland-build.36792/#post-554079.

My wife is very pleased with the on road handling. An upcoming RV trip and mods I am working on for the trip have delayed my being able to flex off road, unfortunately…

Took it in for a seat issue that’s going to require them taking the whole seat out to tear down. Got the oil changed while and let them change the air filters, too. $50 labor to install two filters. I should have known better.

That’s what I get for being lazy lol

How do you like those lights?
Im considering the same lights, either the wides or the floods
I want light around the front of the vehicle but concerned the floods would not go far enough to the front

Where did you mount the switch and how was the install?
