What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

If the lower mounting hole has been cut away during the CMC, you can always drill another hole farther back on the cab mount:

 

Swapped out the OEM Bridgestone Duelers for a full set of new Falken Wildpeak AT3W's - LT265/70R17 E-rated. Probably the last set that I'll ever be able to get my hands on.
The gal at the post office - yep, it's not uncommon for us to order tires and have them delivered via the post - loved'em!

And - installed a Twist-step for the furry fella. Much easier on the joints for the big dogs if they don't have to make a big jump down. And it's easily removable for rougher travel. I've been using these on-and off in different rigs for the last 14+ years.

I feel the same about my rocker paint and rock chips. I really haven't thought twice or given a F lol the 4R looks too good to care, I can use OE touch up paint (but I have zero chips so far).

So after (1) wrong part# return and confusion by N-Fab customer support by saying that ONLY part# NFB-T1164RL ONLY is able to be installed on the LIMITED, its actually Part #T1164RL, and the front bracket can only be used with only (1) hole of the OEM from bracket. Well anyway, I got mine today and installed them..... The 4Runner Limited already has very limited selection of running boards to choose from, and these were my favorite, little bit aggressive flush, and clean....

Replaced the Cabin filter and Engine air filter. Used OEM. Both were in decent condition.
Also cleaned the MAF sensor.
I do these 3 things once a year. Engine oil every 5000 miles.
However, if I travel a few thousand miles through dusty conditions , I replace the filters sooner.

 

Finally got the light bar on my new bumper wired.

 

Good lord... I get home from a quick trip to the gas station and as I'm sitting here looking at my 4runner and there's a crack in the rear bumper. As I left I was thinking why some pos ford ranger parked close to me, just my luck. You can't have nice things anymore. But it's and excuse to armor up.

 

Put my license plates on it......

 

And this is why I try to park way away from the idiotic/inconsiderate population out there!!!

 

I always park way out in left field. Thats what blows my mind.

I got tapped from behind sitting in my truck parallel parked…twice! There were 2-3 cars lengths of space behind me… both times!
Fckers need to wake the F up! Luckily I have my hitch step on that took the hits.

 

I know how it feels. This was at 1 mph because a moron could not reverse his pickup truck. The thin Toyota sheet metal does not help either.

 

I always put a hitch on my vehicles if they have a receiver, more or less for that reason (although I will on occasion tow a small utility trailer). I had a Land Rover Discovery with a hitch, got rear-ended while stopped, Honda was going around 30 mph. His airbags didn't deploy because the point of impact was above his bumper, but that car's a goner. I ended up with some scratches on the rear bumper, and that was it...

 

THAT one I have to remember.

Took the plunge and bought myself one of those Wolfbox mirrors from Amazon. Got the G890 version. This model has both cameras monitoring the front and rear. AND a camera for the interior. Haven't installed it yet (project for my short work week). I bought an additional hardwire kit by mistake. One is included with this particular model.

The only thing I'm not completely sure of is a mounting bracket. Most of these mirrors have straps to hold it onto any current mirror, however, I'd rather it actually mounted in. Wolfbox website and Amazon don't have a bracket listed or suggested for this mirror.

 

Got out to the garage for some valance swapping today. Did the front last week and today the rear. While I had the bumper off I installed the Diode Dynamics Hitch Pod, the CR1 model to be exact. This model not only comes on in reverse, but when braking blinks rapidly before staying on red with the other two stock brake lights. Additionally, I installed the VLEDS V6 Extreme System 921 led reverse lights in the 6,000K color temp, they are currently on sale. Between the two, the extreme brightness allows increased clarity at night when using the back up camera, which was pitiful in stock trim.

 

Not at all, the bottom of the shelf is right on the top line of view with the back window if that makes sense.

I hear ya, and getting your hands on a '24 is a good investment.
Much to my chagrin I don't think I have a single mod that makes my 4R faster and I've modded like it's going out of fashion (getting on the nerves of bone-stock type folks one cosmetic mod at a time )

 

Counterpoint, dont add an extra 200lbs in tires alone. I'll give you that all your mods get put to work but there's a ton of rigs that arent heavy nor pathetic.

 

This thing was slow even stock lol. 3.73 is not enough for this thing.

 

Which valances did you purchase?
