Port installed parts. (Which is fine, what do the Japanese know about Fox shocks?)

Not sure why it matters so much about where these final parts are put together. Toyota is a genius in logistics and Pros are US only vehicles. Imagine shipping costs of all those roof racks and wheels…?

Also if the wheels are already in the US for port installer accessories for other trims (how 90%+ of units sell in Texas)…

Has anyone actually reported issues due to a bad port install specific and common only to Pros? Serious question. Not trying to be a smart ass here.

Nice! Too bad my solar panel is in the way. I'm looking for a nice quick detach option for the standard dish that I can drive with. How are you powering it?

    PXL_20240330_161432726~2.jpg

Speaking of solar, my 200w panel+768wh battery went to zero only once, after a week+ of gloomy cloud cover. Hot and sunny weather with heavy fridge use seems to be no challenge at all.

I had bad alignment and wheel balance. Probably for some reason they might have missed after installing Fox suspension and wheels +tires. I do have the marking on the nuts but not sure what happened.

I did remove my TRD skid and didn't notice the nuts were loose, so that's good.

Didn't notice anything loose on my roof rack other than crossbars were tiny bit loose to my taste but no big deal. Tighten by hand. I used a Thule roof box few times and no complaints.

I didn't look too closely at my badges but at a glance they seems in place.

    Edit -
I didn't report this as complaint. Only sent an email to the dealership.

Cause I haven't spent enough money....

Victory 4x4's rear Strike bumper with tire mount and Adventure carrier with the ladder, maxtrax/rotopack carrier, and hi-lift jack mount.

Install went ok. The only real recommendation for any new install is to take their "5 inch from the seam" bumper cut measurement and make it 5-1/2" or even 5-3/4". I cannot imagine any reason why the gap from the remaining quarter panel and the bumper needs to be so big. It's almost 3/4".

I'm also not satisfied with how loose that remaining piece of quarter panel is. I'm working on making the mudflap delete kit work on these, but it's not clean.

It seems a high-quality product. Not sure about those lower grid accents though. Might take them off. It looks good without them. And there is a weld that interferes with them. I dunno yet...

I have an SOK 206Ah Li (measured at 214Ah) behind my driver's seat. It's powered by a 100W roof panel, 25A of alternator power, or 100W portable panels. The battery runs Starlink and my Dometic fridge, plus all the extras. I'm often parked in one place several days (Search and Rescue ops or fly fishing trips) so I like having the large battery... BTW check out Triomount for the newest dish. Seems like a great solution.

That looks great! The reason for the gap is the body and frame/bumper flex separately. If you don't have enough gap you risk damaging the body.

Here is a video by Sandy Cats that explains this. He talks about this starting at about 3:10 in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2YHuTO77Fo

Walked the dog and then the wife and I re-arranged all my stuff in the rooftop basket (Recovery "stuff", large First Aid kit. extra TP and paper, assorted taco sauces (IMPORTANT ON TRIPS!), towels, etc.). Put likely needs where they would be more accessible and easier to reach. Traction mats tended to catch the airflow, so they fit nicely inside lying flat. Everything secured with bicycle cable and locks and held in place with bungees! Pictures as soon as I download them!

Pakkuraba has new shoes. BFG KO2s. Also the spare. Can’t say enough good things about Discount Tire. They mounted the spare for me without me asking.swapped out sensors, etc yeah I know that’s what they get paid to do but they did it well in 45 minutes. Loaded up my old wheels. Fantastic customer service. Next project — putting on the Gobi stealth roof rack.

Got some Tinkerer Designs billet shift knobs. Pricey, but seriously well made and cool. I don't do bumpers, armor, and such, so I spend $ on stuff I really like. Tinkerer does so much for the Toyota community, I figured I'd support him in something like this:

    IMG_1651[1].jpg IMG_1652[1].jpg IMG_1654[1].jpg

The fingers of your hand fit into the notches, and it just feels great in your hand. Once threaded on, they lock in place with an allen head bolt in the center of the knob. The center patches are removable, and there's a ton of patches available to customize these to your liking. I also got a gray TRD patch for the auto transmission knob. I'm waiting for some other patches I like to come back into stock at Yota Expedition. Also, the ring under the top portion is interchangeable with other colors available, as well as the black allen bolts - he offers grey titanium bolts also, for a bit more.

The Pro has the same bumper as the OR, but the valances are black, and it has the Pro grille, of course.

Replaced the rear driveshaft with Ultra-Power P/N 936763. Factory driveshaft was too heavily rusted. Also greased the front driveshaft with Castrol Pyroplex Blue #2.

    AP1GczNW5hKA7Pixoiw6_zZphK3YTftL8BYaOw-__4c8371084f5ccc42a395da870c0064da863555b5.jpg AP1GczOELNKJ2MZSGk90f1d3a1MZhFq5jFYz4-FT_11a8b0a287c12fb311e4f85f9ac4f2f58ab1a106.jpg

Tested the driveshaft up to about 80 mph with no unusual vibrations. For a $220 driveshaft it's pretty good.

Xpel 70% blue tint all the way around except for the windshield a couple days ago.

And a bunch of spring cleaning today @ 50,000km:

Oil change + Fumoto valve install
Rear diff, front diff & transfer case fluid change with Redline 75W85 for the diffs and Redline MT-LV for the transfer case.
Replaced front diff drain and fill plugs with the hex head Lexus ones
Lubricated the driveshafts (lucky day, parked it and the rear lube points were in the perfect spot for me to access them! Win!)
Replaced the engine air filter and cabin air filter

Almost ready for my Utah trip in May, just need new tires.

Finally unassed myself and decided this 6th gen 4 cyl turbo thing probably isn't worth waiting for ... so I bought my fifth 5th gen since '15...

2024 ORP... the last of the best!

Pleasant deal with McDaniel Toyota in Marion, Ohio; highly recommended if you are close.

What did I do specifically today other than buy it? Ordered tires (Falken Wildpeaks), ordered a console organizer, installed my shotgun rack, C pillar debadged it, and presently looking at overlays for those stupid chrome grille strips...
