Check out the intake from Airaid as well. I didn't like that the TRD one has the sensor on top of the intake tube, and has whatever that weird thing is in the corner of the airbox.

Keep an eye on the LEDs inside each light. I bought from another famous seller and now my grill lights are not in a good shape.

I installed a set of the Seven Sparta grill lights (smoked lenses) on my daughter's TRD ORP (also changed her DRLs from halogens to LEDs, and put Lamin-x yellow tint on her driving lights). Based on some research, I ran a bead of silicone around the base of the smoked lenses, as an added measure to keep moisture out. Apparently, fogging of the lenses is a common issue with some of these grill lights.

This one uses the screws. I wanted this one hoping it would last longer. Was worried about the tape version.

Love the look. I plan to paint the lower valence at some point but it’s not a bad look with the silver.

And, after MUCH consideration, personal dithering, tons of research during sleepless nights, and watching a Youtube video by Andrew St Pierre White of 4xOverland about four times until the message was driven into my thick skull - just ordered a Gobi rack. Decided that strong, durable, traditional functionality was much more my speed than new, lightweight and cool. Kind of the same reason that I'm on my second 4Runner.

600lbs? Wow that's closer to max carry capacity of TRD ORP (same for TRD Pro). What is your max carry capacity? Door jam carry capacity - yellow sticker with reduced weight number?

Pretty sure max payload is something like 1500lbs. I'll check the door jam.

Pretty sure I read (because new owners always read the owners manual, right?) that max payload is 1625 lbs. Things might be sagging and dragging at that kind of load though.

The way I check is; when I open the driver door I look for 2 stickers.
    1) That shows tire size, pressure, seating capacity, etc will show what max carry capacity for that trim.
    2) Then there's a yellow sticker telling you how much more is reduced from your own 4runner.

For example: 1st sticker say 835lbs and yellow sticker say 10lbs, the total carry capacity is 825lbs (835-10).

Senior members/ experts on this subject matter please correct me if I'm wrong. Sorry I'm no expert, just an average user.

Here's a clip below from a prior user's post about his 2021. This is from the owner's manual. The yellow sticker in your driver's door jamb will indicate if these numbers are reduced due to tires, etc. Take the max number listed below, for example 1165. That's passengers and cargo - total combined max. The lower number of 970 is the max for the cargo area by itself, regardless of passengers. So, if you load your cargo area to 970, then you only have 195 left for passengers (1165-970). Conversely, if you have 1150 pounds in passengers, then you are only supposed to have a max of 15 in cargo. Owner/user should verify these numbers in their respective owner's manual to confirm specs for their model, just in case they are different for some reason. Hope that helps.

In case anyone is interested, this is what 600lbs (12 50lb concrete blocks) looks like loaded (mostly) above the rear axle.

Note: I have the Bilstein 5160 shocks with Bilstein B12 springs in the back so the rear was about 1" or so taller than stock.

I jumped down the "payload rabbit hole" and learned a few things - and also got a little more confused. Suffice it to say, if I use the door sticker, with two adults in the car, I have less than 600lbs of weight capacity left (factoring in my sliders and skid plates- not including any increase I might get from upgraded shocks and springs). If I use published curb weights minus GVWR from the door sticker, I'd have almost twice that.

Using the sticker and the manual, with 5 average (150lb) adults, I'd have about 100lbs of capacity left.

In other words, If I'm taking 4 people to the airport, a couple of them will have to leave their suitcases at home, or I'd have to rent a trailer.

There you go. My TRD Pro has whopping 56lbs reduction, leaving only 824lbs to play with.
    20240316_095934.jpg

Having stock spring nothing much I can do. I felt it real bad when I moved some stuff for my wife's business. Limited with aftermarket spring handled it pretty well than stock.

Just finished installing Cali Raised interior molle panels with top shelf. After waiting almost 7 weeks for delivery. The install was mostly easy but only because of the video by Cali Raised. I hit a snag at one point where a bolt wasn’t going in, and I had to de-assemble a window panel but I got the bolt in and finished.
In other news, I took her in for her first oil change and the service manager told me that my RSG sliders had several loose bolts. This embarrassed me greatly since I was the one who installed them. So I bought a digital torque wrench and tightened both sides up to the exact ft-lb required. One of the bolt threads is stripped so that’s something I’ll have to figure out in a few years when I take the sliders off and clean/rust check. I’m happy that they caught that. For all the bad things people say about Toyota service departments I’m hoping I have a good one, I feel that way so far. Only time will tell.

Which is weird because the manual (at least the '23 manual) says the Pro should have 120lbs MORE capacity: 880->1000lbs. Kooky.

Welp another milestone reached. My 22’ TRD Sport I picked up with 7 miles on it has officially reached 20k today *sheds tear* I captured the moment it rolled over like a proud father watching his son at his first Christmas play.

    Happy 4Running out there!
