Long ways away, hopefully, but wondering why this is difficult? Worked on Hondas and Highlander before and they were not that bad.

Nice! I wish my shop gave me a couple Bilstein option choices, I din know enough then.
Let us know how you like em

Anyone know, Can I get more than 5 years out of 5100's with moderate use and low miles?? I've heard average life of aftermarket struts can be 5 years. I'm assuming springs last longer.

How bad did they molest me up here in Canada?
(I need to learn how to change my own fluids and bleed brake lines or whatever lol)

    Does not look horrible.
Last supper we had to have a new front brake line put on our Cherokee during a road trip to Prince Edward Island(pre 4Runner)
I was expecting a thousand dollar job.
It cost me more for the rental car the two days they had the jeep than the cost of the repair.
$50CAD part and $80 labor at jeep dealer.
I'd say you guys have it good up there when it comes to labor.

Wonder if they actually used the liquid gold OEM Toyota 75W transfer case fluid or said they did and just used 75W90. Fyi in the future, Redline makes an equivalent fluid that's $22 a bottle at Lordco and it only takes 1 liter.

Finally got Bilstein 5110 installed. I was on the fence about this for such a long time. I am very glad I did. My concerns were mainly that it would be too harsh a ride. On road, it definitely is not. It is much more grounded, feels more secure on turns. Its at 0.85", I feel like that is the best setup for a 4Runner, anything else and you better have larger tires to fill up wheel wells else it would look off with 265s.

I tried to take pics that show how the vehicle stands now, for someone thinking about it. There's still a rake but much prefer this stance over stock.

    Looks good, love those wheels.
Installing 5100's all around this weekend myself. 265's for tires, I am STILL on the fence between .85 and 1.75 with cf spacers in rear.
I have seen 265's in those settings and they looked ok, but never have I seen in the flesh.
I may do one side at 1.75, drop the truck off the lift and then decide if it is too much, just go back to .85.
Though I must say, you are looking good, almost level and not like some monster truck wanna be with caves for wheel wells.

As I mentioned there is still rake, but the thought of huge wheel wells scared me. I might go higher when I move to 285 in the future but for now I am too scared with my puny 265s to go higher than .85.

If you trade in you are going to loose ton of money. When I sell tires on FB market place I get good amount of money.

KO2 to KM3 would be a very interesting move. Hope you are buying because you really need mud traction.

BTW, you reminds me of another member who is pretty close to the things you do who is no more in this forum.

Hope you have done your home work and have a plan, not just throwing money making your 4Runner and endless money pit. Good luck.

I have shared that I screwed up my back door garnish while debadging... I have considered buying a new part as they are about $130 via the parts.toyota.com website and through my local dealers, in the meantime, I bought some reflective tape...

I was thinking of using reflective tape along the aluminum strips of the runningboards. I don't know, I tend to be a guy that doesn't put crap on my car, being in Southern California, I learned over 30 years ago that stickers on your car can turn you into a target real quick. Whether it's theft or vandalism...

There were some flaws in this section of tape, so it's not my final installation. Just a test to see if the adhesive works and if it's worth the extra effort to do a nice job...

I know I'm lowering the average on this thread compared to lifts, panels and bumper surgery

I need to take mine off to mitigate some rust from the garnish rubbing through the paint and I'm dreading it

Yes. I was watching some videos on how to remove it and the rust issue came up. If I end up suffering from that, might be a good opportunity to buy a new garnishment and have them install it upon replacement. My local body shop guy is excellent in terms of flexibility. He's been a 4Runner owner as well.

Upon the prompting, went out and looked at my car, it looks like a rubber gasket is under the back door garnish and there is probably a good 16th of an inch gap if a 16th of an inch is about .75mm. 2023 ORP.

Hard to see there, but now that you mention that...the parts diagram shows a gasket there, which is not on mine.
Additionally I cannot find that part number available anywhere.XXXXX Scratch that...Toyotapartsdeal does return a result for it

Interesting. I wonder if Toyota realized the problem and issued a stealth fix.

If so, an out-of-warranty repair might be possible if you ask nicely and make a irrefutable argument to a smart advisor.

By the way, my 2020 OR's back door garnish lost a bolt rattling around the door whenever I opened it. It was a certified used TCUV from a dealer.

Mine has it's cpo warranty until the end of the year. I'll swing by this summer an ask nicely.
