I have the limited style flares on my 2000 4WD SR5. I believe you got them if you upgraded to the bigger 265/70/16 tires over the 225/70's. Wider tires in some places require bigger flares.

Installed a new fuel filter, but broke two bolts trying to remove the guard to get access to it. I should have let them soak a little longer. :annoyed:

I have an intermittent vibration at the steering wheel, thus I have been chasing this $&&@ ghost for about a year. I have had the tires balanced twice and the alignment with no change.

So last week I changed the rack guide and the power steering fluid......no change in vibration.

Today I replaced the rack bushings, control arm bushings and end link bushings .........short test drive and it seems to be better, we'll have see when I put some more miles in.

The tires are Gladiator SUV tires with 20,000 miles on them, which were on the truck when I bought it a year ago. They could be my problem, but it's an expensive test to try new tires.

Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated

Update to my post above; well I have driven it for a few days now and the vibration is 98% gone so it looks like the rack bushings solved the problem. The other 2% is probably just my hightened awareness to the issue.

As for the sway bar bushings and end link bushings, the sway bar bushings fit perfect, but the end link bushings that came in the Energy Suspension kit have a larger bore than the end link rod. So I have s/w them and they are sending me a different set of bushings with the correct bore (free of charge). Great service from Energy Suspension!!!!

Replaced rear sway bay end link bushings, replaced pcv valve and grommet. The pcv valve was very difficult to remove, broke the plastic nipple off it and when the valve finally came out the bottom half of the grommet fell into the cover. After a fight with wire and needle nose pliers it came out.
    :( :annoyed: :amen:

Installed a B&M 70268 Supercooler and bypassed the cooler in the radiator. Possible milkshake avoided for a little piece of mind. Probably would have never happened but, now it never will.

Had new KYB Gas adjust struts & shocks installed. Night & day difference in my 1998 Limited 2wd.
Had front windows tinted. Re- installed roof rack after cleaning & painting. Carbon fiber wrapped console. Came out pretty good for my first attempt at wrapping anything. Going to try some more interior pieces soon. Painting hood next week.image.jpgimage.jpg

Fixed my rear window and tried getting my A/C back up and functioning... no luck on the A/C but did get the window fixed. The window was hitting on the rear wiper motor.
