What have you done to your 3rd Gen 4Runner today?

glad you got it working,
I just added an oil catch can to mine...
figured I'd replace the PCV valve while I was there...
my PCV was clogged and would not rattle when shaken...

noticeable better acceleration and throttle response for me...
easy to overlook the PCV

 

"Locked" in the Diff. Seems to function properly, never used it.

I had to roll it back and forth a bit, in 4Low, then it got much easier.

 

I guess I could do a shallow water entry boat launch on the beach? Just back that baby into the surf and go?

 

Got 3 gallons of fuel. Second time I have got gas this year I think. Transmission sure appiciates the new fluid and fresh oil been over a year since before the accident. Im ready to tow the boat!

 

I put my new timing belt tensioner on, loosely, and wrapped my new belt around the cam pulleys. Decided to wait until daylight to proceed.

And i tried in vain to flip my rear passenger seat up.

 

My right fog light bulb was burned out, so went and bought two news ones for $54...

thought I knew how to replace bulb easily, pulled wrong screw...cross threaded it getting it back in

figured out, ONE screw to take out to twist fog light out...

rounded ONE of the screw heads off the fog light bulb access...

went to ACE and bought six M3x20 .80 pitch screws and an M5 tap to clean out threads I messed up

after I figured out how to do it by getting right side wrong...the driver's side took about 10 mins to replace


tl;dr replace both fog light bulbs in my 2000 SR5 and fixed switch for rear floods/reverse lights

 

New mirror and seat cover. Got Safelite coming to install the door glass.

 

$3,500 for tree cutting, so it wont happen again.

 

Im adding seat covers. These are for a new Camry says they fit.

 

Not strapped in just test fitting.

 

Best $66.00 I ever spent.

Its not THAT bad?An eight point buck already dented in the door a few years ago.

 

Well, I think I would be an idiot if i let someone else install the fender, when its so easy. So I grabbed some paint. And having Safelite replace the glass in both doors for around $400.00.

Rebuilt the passenger side, new CV, Ball joints and tie rod end. Still waiting on new rotors to get delivered.







Spacer lift will also get removed at some point just trying to get it road worthy again after the last owner did no basic maintenance and its sat for a few month.

 

Safelite got the wrong glass. I should order it myself and install?

 

I made a Satoshi grille for my 4Runner.

 

"Back in the saddle again"

 

First coat of paint on the new fender! Going to let it cure for two days then clear it. Ordered new flare clips and flare seal. And installed my white car seat covers. Those of you that go with new Camry car seat covers, the console cover needs to be trimmed down.

 

Just applied the clear coat. It looks good, except for that knat that landed. You have to activate the clear, by pressing a cap on the bottom. Yes, I had a mask. Hope it fits, holes seem the same.

Replaced driver and passenger drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, and parking brakes.

Was only going to paint the drums but one thing leads to another as you know...
Everything was original to the truck, 23+ years old.

 

Went for a ride on the beach.

 

My AC is too cold I don't like it.

 

Installed new OEM rear springs. Replaced driver door seal. Installed steel Talon Garage Trans/Cat shield. Quality and fitment of the Talon Garage was excellent. For $250.00 it is a robust deterrent against catalytic converter theft.
Ordered and looking forward to replacing lower ball joints, power steering rack bushings and front sway bar bushings.

 

Got my property tax bill.... 4Runner was'nt on it.
