    Yeah OEM rebuild kit 29.00
8 “O” rings , 8 Boots , 8 retaining rings & that very useful packet of red silicone grease
    Money well spent.

    Those darn pistons though.
Man I hope their in good shape.

True true but I see myself doing Tundra upgrade with new roters in roughly 5 years.

Are the Tundra calipers steel or aluminum like our OEM. I wonder if it’s really noticeable braking?

Installed a Gen 1 TRD supercharger last weekend. Next up is changing the Power Steering belt since there’s a bad whine when I get to 3000rpm, CV axles since mine are ripping after the lift, sway bar links and bushings since mine are toast and hopefully a tube front bumper aswell.

Passenger side yesterday - all went smooth no pitting on pistons , caliper walls all good just lots of clean up needed.
    Rebuild kit installed & mounted.

Driver side today - What a freaking mess lol.
    Break line to caliper snapped.
1 badly pitted piston that was expected had OEM replacement handy.
To my surprise previous idiot owner or jackleg mechanic installed undersized piston seen in pictures.

OEM breakline & another piston on the way will receive tomorrow morning 8AM.

Got pics of the pitted piston? Curious as I think my 2002 needs a Caliper rebuild and I want to know what to look for.

I sanded the rust off the back of an oem chrome bumper which I hope to fit to my 4runner. Also primed and painted the back of it to prevent it from rusting again. Used clear epoxy to reinforce the chrome grill I also bought because it was starting to crack in the back and the chrome was coming off in the back as well. Fixed the grill now so it wont continue to deteriorate once I fit it.

The next layer of rustolium goes onto my bumper tomorrow before I fit it. Also hope to order touch up paint because there are some chips that have let rust in which I can remove using an engraver. Sanding my bumper in humid 105 degree temperature was brutal.

Nothing too fancy but put led bulbs in the running lights, need to still get some for the blinkers. Put amber Lamin-X on the LED fog lights.

JB-welded the in-mold studs back into the running board end cap. My son tore it off on the side of the garage.

After a vigorous online hunt for a pre-loved replacement, I dropped $9 at O’Reilly’s. Done!

    Next.

Put a few miles on her. Did most of it in 4WD. It runs so quiet and efficient. Taching 1700 rpm’s 55 mph..Practice makes perfect. I need to do this five more times before the season opens.. I’m not shooting a compound bow4DD32A6F-0566-4D30-B1B7-EF278DB0581B.jpg 5CCB9A46-A9B5-4332-B29D-AC744E206219.jpg because I have tennis elbow from work..

I’m getting incredible gas mileage. Runs smooth as silk. Don’t even know it’s in 4WD. Barely have to step on the gas pedal. Planning on hunting every day this week after work. Not much deer sign. Few small tracks. But I know a big one will come in here I just have to wait....018B8C1A-3E98-4A01-8A77-8BEFED73BFF0.jpg

    Thanks!

They're the factory chrome wheels and they're dipped.

I hate them actually and prefer the 5 spoke wheels instead.

    @SR5 Limited

What's funny is, my own chrome wheels are growing on me now that I've got the tires on

    Washed it up today

    20201007_142332.jpg

And spent maybe 20 mins total quickly installing a new stereo. Needed to get it in before I left to see my girlfriend before I'm gone for a weekend in Moab.

I replaced my faded and semi brittle rear tail lights...found a pair in the local bone yard...they were in great shape, off a 4 runner that got T-Boned. and they cleaned up very nice...look almost new!
