Just joined the community. My husband and I bought a 91 4Runner a few days ago, 226,000 miles but the odometer is broken so who knows for sure. Runs and drives but definitely a project; she’s an old trail rider. I pulled the carpet and seats out to roll on some truck bed liner, pulled the headliner out too so I can refinish it. Hubs worked on the sway bar links. Next are the brakes and rotors and replacing the valve cover gasket and finishing up painting the interior trim.

I had the Masters at FS Audio in San Gabriel California install a new stereo and alarm - and while they were at it I had them install an interior window switch in the rear cabin for me...it's AWESOME!
If you camp out in your 2nd gen then I highly recommend doing this!

Hello 4Runner world! I just recently purchased a 1993 4Runner SR5 with 217k on the dash. I am brand new to the community and of 4Runners. I’ve had it for about a couple days and I am just in love with it. I stumbled across this forum trying to look for some aftermarket modifications. (If there is any info on that please respond to this because I’ve heard it’s a dying market now)
One of the big reasons why I wanted a 4Runner was because of how much you can do with the platform and how much love they get. The first exterior things I want to get done are
-getting the clear coat re-done on the hood and roof.
    -getting badging
-hopefully fix up a small bit of rust on the fender
Interior wise, the guy who I bought it from loved and took care of it very well. She is very clean on the inside.
What I know is done to it is
    -New exhaust
    -New front rotators and pads
    -New drums in the back
    -Head gasket seals replaced
    -Sub
She is everything I need and I can’t wait to get started on modifying her. There was a couple things needed replaced soon and that was
    -Ticking Time heater
    -cover for the column
Another than that I’m excited to have joined the community!
