That was my Grandfather's daily until the late 60s. He kept it as his backup until sometime in the 90s.

Used to be the MKIV Supra, but I've given up on that. Also a 2000GT, but that's never happening.

Otherwise, an old Crown MS75 hardtop, Nissan Z, 80 series Landcruiser...

I can't pick just one. If I won the lottery, I'd have a pole barn full of old Japanese vehicles. :D

    Edited to add pictures.

The truck is the vehicle I’ve always wanted, the Fj is the one I’ll never get rid of. The Fj is off for a seat swap in Kansas City.

My dream car is a 1994 Mitsubishi Montero, grey leather interior, white in color. Had one, gave it to a friend when their car broke down and really needed a replacement but couldn’t afford one. Nicest thing I’ve ever done that I’ve regretted ever since.

How does the PW compare to the FJ and 4Runner off-roading?

To be honest, I’ve only used any of the three on forest service roads to get to Mountain bike trails. Some of the roads aren’t good, but actual off-road I couldn’t say.

The truck and I travel across the country for rides and races and is so good to sit in for long periods of time with the dogs in the back seat folded down so they have a platform. The 4Runner is my “in state” car and is much easier everywhere to drive except the highway. And the FJ sits in my garage and is used on occasion for going to places I don’t take the 4Runner. Especially, Colorado, already too many 4Runners there.

Don't have any dream cars but I do miss my Suzuki Gypsy from the 80s and Gen 2 Mitsubishi Pajero from the 90s.
Simple, effective, tremendous off-roaders, manual, 4x4, horrendous on road.
My current 5th gen feels like a Bentayga compared to these two.

I do like motorcycles though and like a few that I would eventually want.

    Taco to 4R Mod
This post got me thinking last night. My Taco was pretty close to my dream truck, and the 4R is close too albeit in different ways. I think the more realizable dream is to live somewhere we can take better advantage of the 4R, and justifying modding it into my dream rig.

I've had motorcycles and I came to the conclusion I would kill my self if I kept riding.

I've been riding motorcycles for 40+ years, had my crazy fast inline 4-cylinder sportbikes with one-piece leathers. Now, not so much, and I've grown very fond of twins. Have a 2018 Triumph Street Twin (900cc parallel twin), 2018 Aprilia Dorsoduro (900cc v-twin), and a deposit down on a 2024 Moto Guzzi V7 Corsa (850cc v-twin, will be trading in the Triumph on that one, when it shows up at the dealer). My go-fast days are long behind me, and I've always told myself if I have to ride so defensively that I don't enjoy it anymore, that will be the time to quit...

That's funny, I really wanted a Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit when I was as young chap.
You know what Volks I wanted the most, and still do:
    Corrado!

The dream car that I could probably afford someday? Honda S2000. These came out right after I graduated college and I used to lust over them. The silver with red/black interior is sweeeeet... At the time I actually did buy an Acura RSX Type-S with the K20A2 engine that's only 1000 rpm shy of the screamer in the S2000 so I did get my rpm thrills.....

If I ever got one its would be a hard decisoin between the AP1 and AP2... AP1 is the more pure experience but the 2 would be a lot easier to live with.

When I was a kid, my dream cars where the 427 Cobra and Ferrari 250 GT California from Ferris Bueller. Both out of reach for mortals now...

But I have such eclectic tastes... Ive also thought it would be really fun for something different to get a war surplus genuine Willys Jeep MB, or an old Model T Ford.
