#1 is definitely upgrading from the stock tires. I got some BFG all terrain K2's.
    #2 console safe
#3 new skid package in the works

I felt like the best mod for me was swapping out the OEM struts/shocks for some Bilstein 4600 yellows. I can't recommend these enough if you don't do any hardcore off roading and want to keep the OEM stance. No downside, no alignment issues. Took half a day for me and went on without any problems. The 4runner still rides very comfortably however it just handles a lot better. Less body roll and less nose dive when braking.

I looked into getting 5100s for my 2022 limited to hopefully fix the roll and dive, but when I put the model in on bilstein's website it says they aren't compatible? Do the 5100s not work with a limited trim?

The limited has XREAS. If you want to switch to different shocks, you will lose XREAS. But, it's kind of funny because XREAS is designed to reduce roll and dive. That said, most decent aftermarket shocks seem to firm up the ride.

I see. Reading a little more it sounds like the way to go is get the front and rear shocks and reuse the oem coils since I'm not planning to lift it. It's a 4wd, but I don't think I need differential drop kit if I don't lift it at all?

I think this is all four shocks.

Yeah, that looks right. And, yes, use the OEM coils if not lifting. I don't have a diff drop, and I'm lifted ~2.4".

Hi there everybody I'm new to trucks and happy to be here :)

Irish spring soap shavings to keep away rodents (no tips from me I've yet to do it).

Has anyone removed the roof rack rails and seen any increase in mpg at all?

Is there a chase light or whip kit that mounts on the hitch and is pretty self contained? I am looking for something I can whip out once I pull off the highway into dirt/OHV area, and then remove and stow before getting back on the highway.
by the way, is a chase light specifically for people in your group to recognize and follow you, and a whip is for more general visibility? Should I have one of these for courtesy/safety if I am casually cruising around in not crowded dirt?

Can you tell me why so I can understand.

"...I would first recommend swapping the side mirrors for the blind spot mirrors from earlier RAV4..."

You don't have great visibility through the rear windows, and the RAV4 mirrors do a great job of showing the small sedan hiding in your blind spot.

How are the rav4 mirrors different, do they have convex glass, are they wider? Are they wired for the Blind Spot Monitoring indicator?

My sr5 came with BSM and RCTA standard. Just stating for clarity, not saying the systems replace vision.

They have the small blind spot mirrors in the corner. Absolute game changers especially on the freeway.

I put them on my Tacoma recently. They work well, though I did find double mirror a bit distracting. Happy to have the light indicators back.

Thanks guys. I believe you and I suppose I'll track down a set of mirrors. I have driven a couple vehicles in the past with these blind spot mirrors and didn't care for them. However these were other people's vehicles and not my daily driver. Ford Cmax had this section from factory and 08 Tundra had stick on fisheye which I removed.

Boy I new that extra screen protector I bought when I had my 2020 AG Pro would come in handy. I bought it with the extra one. So that will go on my 23 Pro.
    Caliraised cat plates
    Canvasback
    Tyger Star steps
Also might switch to more aggressive tire for my Pro. My tire guy will hook me up and buy my new tires like he did my tundra pro. A lot cheaper doing it that way. Mickey Thompson Baja boss A/T tire.

Can anyone tell me what these are called and where might a girl get them ? Or can they be removed from original mirrors ? IMG_2013.jpg

O’Reillys suggested side mirror retaining clips. But they removed mine from my original. I attach them to my replacements.

One of the better "mods" i have done, led reverse bulbs. Helps those of us not living under the city lights.

For my 2019 ORP, I ordered on-line from McGeorge Toyota, and got two parts: 87961-42D20 Door Mirror Glass (Left) and 87931-42D50 Door Mirror Glass (Right).

It was fairly easy to power the stock mirror so it faced more inboard, creating a gap on the outside edge, and gently pull the mirror from its retaining clips. There was a plug to swap out to heat the mirrors. Then the new mirrors clip into place and done.

A Youtube video described opening the housing for better access, but this wasn't necessary in my case.

I agree with those that said you should decide what your goals are for your 4runner and go from there. But below are three mods I have found most useful regardless of your goals.

A screen protector - the screen scratches very easily and screen protector will solve that and actually makes the images on the screen sharper. Got mine on Amazon.

Canvasback cargo liner - this make cleaning the back of your 4R so much easier and you wont have to worry about carpet tears and pulls.
    canvasback.com

Floor liners - I opted for Weather Tech

Below is a link to my build page that shows all the mods I have made to my 4R to suit my intended purpose - and a few cosmetic changes to suit my taste.
