Gotcha--thanks for the clarification. What are your guys thoughts on Silver or Barecelona red as far as quality of paint on a new 4Runner?

So far so good on the Red but it's only a few weeks old and 250 miles so..........and it won't be going off-road because it's my wife's grocery getter. And we have the Tacoma for wheeling.

I have a Silver 4R 2014 model with a lot of miles, I bought a while back the Toyota touch up paint that has the brush and pen applicators and I use it often. With a 4R scratches are a way of life :D

Sorry to say, I have the "classic silver " on my 2020 and that paint sucks too....just a little less suck than the "super white". I wish Toyota had better paint.

Though my white looks great (garage kept and waxed a couple of times since 2017) who knows more information about the class action lawsuit?

Great class action lawsuit. Here is one thing I never heard about 4runners. Dang just when I thought I chose the perfect vehicle. What years did this cover anybody know? One more thing to research.

It easily chips, easily scratches.......feels like very thin paint and virtually no clearcoat.

IMG_1589.jpg IMG_1586.jpg So I went out today looking at new 4Runners and used just to see how they held up. Check out this garbage. This is 2018 TRD OR; the white paint as others suggested is garbage, appears to chip very easily.

Also, look at the black trim near window edges and on the rear window; this is ridiculous on a 2 year old vehicle. Is everyone else having issues with their black trim fading and peeling like this?

The trim I dont worry much about...a little bit of armor all and it looks fine. A lot of that is residue from the rear window washer fluid, rain, dirt, dust, sediment from the road that blows up there. I dont believe it's fade from the sun? in only 2 years? someone with an older 5th gen 4 runner like a 2010 ... I could believe that on a 10 year old vehicle.
The white paint, and all the 4 runner paint to a degree......just plain suks!
I still like the truck though...it's better than most stuff out there. I had a Ford explorer, constant problems.
