The same? There are Toyota dealers all over the country and you can get parts at any auto parts store. I’ve never even seen an Ineos dealer.

I think the point is even a new Tundra can come off the lot with issues, including catastrophic engine failure. The Ineos BMW powerplant is pretty well known and understood, as an example. Ineos may be a new company, but the parts with which it is built are well-sorted and tried and true.

If you took a Buck 110 and put it in a nylon sheath it doesn't mean it's not still one of the best folders, not just because it always came in a leather sheath before that.

Well as shown earlier the 4R uses the same LCA as the LC250/GX550, so it has a bump pad.

Have fun in the first 5 years! The straight 6 should be a fun engine, with good aftermarket upgrade support for up to 1000 hp. Of course typical M engine ownership experience is a prayer before each start, after the warranty expires. You know the timing chain's on the rear of that engine? Because German engineering.

Plot twist: the T24A makes more turbo noises

Be sure to carry a quart of oil in the trunk for top-ups every time you refuel. BMW has thought of you and offers a genuine accessory oil pouch: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-BMW-Spare-Pouch-Model/dp/B007T9JZWE
(There may be an M branded pouch for 5-qt jugs.)

Agreed, and I’m not sure they quite got it ever completely ironed out, I had a 2022 and it was subject to that kind of frequent shifting on hills deal. My 2024 4Runner definitely doesn’t have that problem.

I was really referring simply to the styling. Wow

Oh, kind of like Toyota (taken directly from the owners manual):

A certain amount of engine oil will be consumed while driving..., and
engine oil may need to be refilled in between oil maintenance intervals.

Too bad Toyota doesn't include the cool oil carrying pouch.

I doubt they check anything. Just drain and fill as quickly as possible.

styling is in the eye of the beholder (or as some say only a face a mother could love)

personally exterior styling doesnt matter to me (but i may be an oddball). i care more about interior features/styling since i have to see/deal with that all the time while driving. not like i am sitting in the garage/driveway fawning over the looks of a vehicle (but i imagine some will be like that)

    good examples :

    1. 4th gen 4runner, that star pattern hvac controls where just horrible
    2. 5th gen 4runner, the window controls on top of the window sill
    3. the new sequoia rear area storage area due to the battery pack (this was a hard nope for me, i was almost ready to move up from a 4R to a sequoia)

Those HVAC controls ... first time I took my 4th gen to a friend/mechanic for smog check. First thing he said, what the hell is with these controls? Worst design I've ever seen from Toyota. Lol

That rear storage area of the Sequoia is horrible. The team that designed that should all be fired. They completely missed the point of a family hauler.

I honestly think that whole vehicle is a fail. Do they even sell any? I think I've seen maybe 2 of them in person since they came out.

I used the bed on my Maverick twice in two years. Once to move furniture and once to haul flooring materials, and maybe occasionally loading groceries. But here in FL it's too hot to keep groceries in the bed for longer than 10 minutes. Melted ice cream ain't no fun for anyone!

I probably could have spent the $1000+ to put a hard cover on the bed which would have saved me some money otherwise spent on buying the 4R, but the 4R is by far the superior vehicle. I wanted to love the Maverick as a first time Ford buyer (buying two F150s for hubby doesn't count since I rarely drove them) but ultimately, I'm just not a truck person.

Waiting to see what the future holds for the 4R and the Tacoma with the change in engines. I was already a guinea pig for Ford buying a first-year vehicle without so much as a test drive; someone else can heed the call with the new Tacomas and 4Runners.

I don’t see many of them on the roads. The exterior looks nice but the inside is useless. I have a friend that was going to get one until they saw the rear storage fiasco. They bought a used previous gen one instead.

Sequioas are rare in my area, but every time I've seen one, it's always just one person in the vehicle. Lmao
