About a 100 dollars. Really though, I think you can go as fast as you want, as long as you don't crash.

There are people running no sway bars. Depends on you suspension setup I guess. The system is still in place, just not functioning in the same way

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
    Different strokes for different folks.
    Two trims for two priorities.
Pro is more suited for faster fire road running.
The Off Road has improved road manners and slightly better articulation for slower off roading.
    Edit: Off Road with KDSS.

kdss is smarter than that. Even at speed it disconnects if there isn’t steering wheel movement or cornering g forces. It’s a pretty sweet system.

Really? I thought it was purely speed threshold + 4wd enabled?

Nothing to do with 4wd. At under 12mph the valves are always disconnected - that’s when you get rock crawling articulation. Over 12mph the valves are electronically actuated based on sensor readings.

But you are saying steering angle is yet another input for whether the system is active?

What is the speed equivalent of $100? Based on experiences I've had in Georgia over the last couple of years, 88 mph is worth $380, and 98 mph is worth $730. Luckily, I got a warning on the latter, from my best friend the Georgia highway patrolman.

I have owned both KDSS and Non-KDSS 5th gen 4runner and I can confidently say that KDSS is WAY better in every aspect.

I agree with that. It took me a while to wrap my head around how it works. Once I got it, I was very impressed. It’s a misunderstood and underestimated system, for sure.

Actually, some of the lifts are taller for vehicles with KDSS. For example, the Bilstein kits will provide a taller lift with KDSS models. You can go to the Bilstein site, put the vehicle info in and look at the kits:

    https://cart.bilsteinus.com/results...id=2959553160134786713&Dr=3541355230145471404

Example (approx .5" added height for KDSS models)
    Notes:
-Provides 0.7-3" Front Lift Without KDSS; 1-3.5" Front Lift With KDSS

Why, why, why!?!?!? Why would a Bilstein lift even go to 3.5" with KDSS, it's obviously going to explode!!!!

LMAO, not worried at all. KDSS its been in production for decades and mainly for Lexus, extremely solid. Limited lift (1") on a KDSS 4Runner is a complete a myth, just do a quick search on lifting a KDSS 4R. What about if your stock suspension explodes in 5years? Nothing last forever, replace it like you would on any moving part. However, there isn't any reported issues with KDSS in particular for over 20yrs.
