We had a SR5 and a couple of Rubicons. IMO, if you want to off road, get a Rubi. There’s really no comparison between a stock Rubicon and any 4R when you’re off roading. The Jeep is better in every way when the going gets tough. That’s not to say the SR5 isn’t capable, it’s vastly capable, it’s just not near as good as the Jeep.

For us, when it came time to replace the Jeep and our SR5, I originally ordered a Limited for my wife and TRD ORP for myself. As I thought about it, and what options I’d use every day, I changed my order and ended up with two brand new Limiteds. I haven’t had a second thought. We’ve gotten about 80” of snow in the past week or so and I’ve been out working and have been forced to drive through very deep snow. The FT 4WD has been great. A few times I’ve used 4WD High but I haven’t needed 4 Lo or A Trac just yet, but more snow is on the way so we shall see. Either way, the Limited is plenty capable for me. Good luck with your decision!
