My friend holds a contest on Facebook where she posts a random picture of one of the vehicles in the yard and whoever correctly guesses the year, make, and model of the vehicle gets a $20 yard credit. She did not have any wrecked Tacomas for me to cannibalize, so I put my credits towards a couple of head units, which I will send to my buddy in the Northwest; He will likely install the cassette from the Paseo in his 1981 SR5 pickup...

 

Normally, I try to post photos I take myself, but this one was just too beautiful to pass up! One of the admins on a Facebook group I'm a member of, who hails from Canada, posted this beautiful 1968 Toyota Crown wagon!

This guy tried to do a burnout, and I attempted to get pictures of it; No, that is not a cop in the background (just a former Crown Vic police car), but the cops were literally right around the corner...

 

Literally two minutes later...

 

I did not see what he did, but people who actually witnessed it told me that he attempted a burnout and the cop was right there, and then I also heard that he tried to run but got caught at the light; Considering that the cop didn't pull him out of the car and cuff him, I think that was a bit of an exaggeration on the part of the people who witnessed it. My truck wasn't exactly designed for burnouts even when it was new, with a 2.7L 4-banger mated to a 4-speed automatic; With almost 150K on the clock, I'm sure that the horsepower and torque have diminished. That said, I did a "burnout" on gravel when leaving a car show back in November 2019; I made sure there wasn't a cop around before I did it...

2016 Scion IM; This is NOT the same car that showed up at a cruise night in Quakertown a few years ago (before COVID). I don't remember if the Rugrats-themed "Reptar Wagon" was a Scion or a Toyota-badged Corolla IM, but that car had a manual transmission and this one is automatic...

This Scion had a hell of a sound system; The car's factory stereo is still intact, and this system basically bypasses. There is a single-DIN head unit in a box on the front seat, as seen in the last photo, and it is hooked up to the massive system in the backseat!

I absolutely love this system, but in the early stages of research before I actually put the subwoofer and amp in my truck, I did a lot of research so I could have a system that was practical and among other things did not cut into my interior space; In a regular cab Tacoma, space is at a premium. This system is a work of art in my opinion, but it renders the car almost completely unusable for more than one person.

 

2001 Lexus IS300; This is the third 2001 IS300 I saw that day, and if you look closely at the trunk you will see that it used to be yellow...
