“We find no statistically significant evidence to suggest that people who live in states or metropolitan statistical areas with higher illegal immigrants shares of the population are more at risk for drunk driving deaths. Of course, there are individual instances to the contrary and those illegal immigrants who are guilty of DUIs or DWIs or who inflict death or injury while driving drunk should be punished according to the law. However, the mere presence of illegal immigrants does not appear to affect the overall drunk driving death rate. Although our regression results are correlative and not causal in nature, they suggest that illegal immigrants do not affect overall drunk driving deaths.”

 

"Correlation does not equal causation." That message is drilled into my mind from having to take several Statistics courses in college.

 

I did not read the end. It says specifically “death rate.” I have, however, read statistics from Texas DPS that say Houston Texas is the #1 place to be: a) Hit by an illegal alien b) hit by a drunk driver c) hit by an unlicensed driver d) hit by an uninsured driver. Those statistics came primarily from accidents involving individuals who were: unlicensed, uninsured, drunk illegal aliens and did not mention anything about deaths, as the article was focused on property damage costs to Texans as a result of the open border.

 

Do at least some of them have licenses in their home countries?

 

The point is they shouldn't be here in the first place.
