    I’d go teardrop like a tab 400.

Gas mileage like my 2016 Minnie Winnie built on a Ford E350 chassis with a 5.4ltr. V8? That's like driving a box on 6 wheels.

Making the switch from a Taco to 2023 ORP ... Dobinson IMS suspension with ~ 2" lift, chrome delete interior and exterior, slim line front bumper with winch install, misc. little mods.
Co-worker just picked up a used one about 6 weeks ago and loves it. He and his wife have been taking it out weekly without issue.

All RVs are junk unless you start to look at something like a liberty coach. The problem is a new one starts around 2 million plus.

Todays trailers make a mobile home look like they are of high quality.

Yep. I'd also consider the tab 320 series if the priority was more about the travel and getting into remote places, vs spending time at camp, but there are a lot of compromises in the 320 in order to make it easier to tow.

I watched two of my neighbors each restore an old travel trailers last year, both disassembled it into a pile of parts and completely redone. The structure of both was mostly of 1"x2"s, 3/8" plywood, and paper-thin sheet metal. They didn't inspire confidence.

    Airstream is great
Next best bet is full fiberglass enclosure like a scamp or casita.
Still plenty from the 70s out there - for a reason!
There’s no other way to go

Used ... as I said ... and much cheaper than new.

That's still 2,877-2,911 lbs dry. Loaded up with a full tank of propane, etc. etc. and you are soon pushing the envelope? My Jayco 154BH came in at 2,700lbs. dry.
