Agreed, I've nicknamed the MissingRunner, I'll ping my Plano source after the first of the year to see it they will give me any updates on it, last I heard was to expect a reveal in the Q1 2024, but it seems like everything slowed down and got delayed with them trying to get the Tacoma, GX550 and LC250 all out at the same time.

It will be the less expensive option.

    4Runner - $45k starting
    LC - $55k starting
    GX - $65k starting

And yet toyota and lexus as so highly desirable brands. I wonder why people just don't buy Mercedes or Porsche instead of lexus.

Agreed. I think there will be overlap of high trims of one with lower trims of another but that seems like the approach toyota would take. They literally have SUVs now from smallest to largest, and differences between one to the next is ever so small. For now this was true for unibody SUVs, now that is applicable to BoF as well. I doubt any other manufacturer has so many SUVs to offer, but maybe I am wrong.

GM does, and I used to think this was something that Toyota was much smarter than GM on (among other things, lol).

Now, I don't know. Micro-segments can be profitable, but that usually just means the customer pays more for what they want.

But where would it fit in terms of size? Think it will be the same size as now or maybe be a tad smaller?

I only ask because the LC isn't that much bigger than the 5th gen 4Runner... as is there's probably some overlap.

This is what I'm hoping for. But, some people think I'm crazy for even suggesting it.

I personally think it'll be roughly the same size it is now.

I don't think it needs to be a different size to differentiate it. Price, styling, and brand name will differentiate it enough.

I am guessing this was because they saw lot of customers leave because they just didn't find the right sized toyota, when they visited their dealership? Now you have choice in size and most of them are offered in hybrid. So while others are fighting and losing EV battle with tesla, toyota is going to keep a large share of market that doesn't want to move to EV due to range or cost anxiety.

Gen 5 is the way to go. Absolutely. And you can get two Gen5s for the price of a top trim 550. And they are virtually the same truck, made on the same assembly line, same parts, same suppliers, same just about everything except the Gen5 has a better ie more reliable engine! A lot of us knew this day would come, Lexus would have to end "speculation" and announce the pricing of this Gen 6 eventually and its not a single mpg better than its predecessor at 15/21. Guffaw. Do not expect better on pricing, performance or mpg from the much lamented 250, buy a Gen 5 now!

Have used GX prices reduced, or will reduce spring 2024? Didn't happen with Tundra, so maybe not but I am curious. I looked at used lexus/toyotas when I was in market, and didn't comprehend the asking price. That was in spring, maybe next year things will be different but who knows.

It would look badass, if they do it right. 3rd row in 4R never made sense to me.

Also, Toyota is supposed to come out with that baby Land Cruiser too, right? Or has that not been confirmed? I can't keep up.

Anyways, if they do, that will be the smaller BOF option.

Doubt it. Last V8 in a GX model. Will most likely stay the same pricing for a while.

This is one of the things I love about our 5th gen, they're a good size. Not too big and not too small. If the 6th gen went a tad smaller it would be acceptable tbh.

Much better than the Bronco, it's way to big. Don't even get me started on the Bronco Raptor.

Jake, that makes two of us... I was at a point where I was ready to get an after school job, save all of my money, plus allowance, and I was going to buy one of these. Take note, I was 13 at the time these appeared on our shores.

Funny how 13 year old thinking is kinda skewed. :)

    Cheers,

    Sean

    Don't the numbers mean something? GX470, 4.7L engine. GX460, 4.6L engine. GX550, 3.4L engine. Shouldn't it be a GX340?

You'd have to necessarily be very poor at math to buy a 550 because the numbers do not add up.

They've had a few good looking vehicles. I'd love to have a clean SC300.

But, you're right. They just don't have the same appeal as some of the European luxury cars.

OTOH, I'd rather own a Lexus than a Mercedes or BMW.

Nice! I'll take the girl, too. Although, she's probably in her 70's now.

I would love to have one of those. Actually, I'd love to just see one in person.

    One word, Reliability.
The whole idea of a Lexus is to cater to those people that prefer stress free ownership but find a Toyota too spartan and rudimentary.
A German ownership can make you weep and empty you bank account.

Agreed, but then the German will break down three times and the Toyota once. So it will balance out in Europe.

sorry my sarcasm does not come across in my texts! I meant to convey that in my original response, and not question why people (which includes me) buy lexus with supposedly lower features inside cabin.
