    I've been using pure peppermint essence/oil diluted (1/2 oz essence : ~30 oz water) in a 1L spray bottle - got them both at WallyWorld.
    I squirt it on and around the engine bay and wiring harness.
    I don't know if it works, but have yet to have a mouse incident with my vehicles.
    My wife also got rid of some flying gnat-like insects in her plants using this same spray.
