Doing some due diligence research to see what I can mod on my mall crawler edition.

Not new to the Forum but new to this Thread. I never knew it existed. anyone doing car meets still in the bay?

 

Just had one in Milpitas couple weekends ago. I usually go wheeling with some buddies (not on this forum) about once a month at least. Lemme know if you're ever up for it

There is a meet at Bay Area Metal Fabrication in Benicia this weekend. November 20th from 12-3 at 510 Stone Road, Benicia. It’s being hosted by BAMF but was organized by someone else. The last one Jerry hosted was very well attended.

 

I doubt it counts, but I was born in Redwood City, raised in Woodside. Back in the days when there were still a lot of redwood trees in both towns. No homeless camps, no crap on the streets, and so forth.
I left about 45 years ago, when the Corps decided they needed me in Yuma, Az. Talk about a complete reversal of what I was used to! I miss the quiet, peacefulness of walking in the redwoods. Going over, through La Honda, to San Gregorio beach for parties, and surfing.
I left Yuma about 15 years ago, when it got so bad that I couldn't walk out my front door without a sidearm, at least. I wanted to come home to Woodside, but when I saw a 1/4 acre, unimproved, lot for $1 million, I knew I couldn't go home again.

I miss the Bay Area of the old days. I guess it's gone forever now. Makes me very sad for what was lost.

Sorry, I know I'm not exactly meeting the parameters of the thread. I just wanted to throw my story out there.

Thanks for sharing that, Pat! I cycle through La Honda often, starting at Woodside or Pagemill and then over to Pescadero. It's the most peaceful place. I really wish we had more Off road trails in that area, but I understand that it stays pristine mainly cause it's untouched land back there. Sad to see many native Bay Areans getting priced out too.

 

I delivered papers at the government center. Used to walk the underground walkways between the buildings back then.

RWC has changed a lot. Way more than I would have liked. Mary's Deli is gone. Same with Woodside Deli. Parts of El Camino are now canyons of apartments. idk. The whole peninsula has been changing in not such a good way (my opinion).

 

Likely doing a hollister run Friday morning if anyone is interested, lemme know and I can shoot details if we confirm

 

dang i just seen this post I would have went.

 

Might run it back Saturday. Either Hollister or Corral Hollow.

 

I may go to hollister on sat. im a little under the weather today so if im a little better by saturday i will let you know tomorrow.

 

Damn wish I found this thread a month ago. I live in Vallejo I coulda made the benicia meet up. Just got a 4runner this year

nah my kid ended up getting sick, so I stayed home.

 

Any know of clubs that do offroading and camping? I know there's some jeep clubs that do that but haven't been able to find any 4runner groups

 

Not a specific club, but me and my buddies go out wheeling often, sometimes cook it up after also.I'll start posting on this forum if any of you are up for it or feel free to message me on IG, that gets checked more often. ( @t4r08 ) . Will likely get more camping trips during the spring/summer.

 

You can check with Lady Owned Toyotas. They do let men in, but not many, and expect you to be a very decent sort. You can find them easy on Fakebook. Errr....I mean FACEbook. yeah, that's what I meant...

You know, just be a nice guy. Don't talk down to people, treat people well, don't laugh at people, that kind of stuff. Laughing WITH people is fine, just not laughing AT people.
Treat the Ladies with respect. That's the biggest thing.

Hey all, joined earlier this year when I was shopping for a rig. Finally landed one. It arrived about two weeks ago. She's a little dirty from all the rain, but wanted to share a pic the day it arrived and with the windows freshly tinted. Hope to meet up with you all someday.
