Next challenge is 4Runner with an animal (better if it’s not your dog or cat)

    4Runner-ish with animal

Next, your 4Runner-ish at a covered bridge. If this is an architectural anomaly in your geographic locale, then I will also accept your -ish with a historic bridge that is historic enough to have a placard describing its historicalness!

I had to jump on this one due to sheer convenience. Here’s the LC with my JD. The JD is awesome… 4wd, 9 forward and 3 reverse gears, weighs about 9000 lbs with the loader and filled tires, lifts about 2500 lbs, etc. Plus I have accumulated a few attachments. I now understand why people love tractors.

Next challenge: Your 4RETC with a nice sunrise or sunset in the background. The sun peeking through our massive oak made me think of this one.8B41020F-715B-4F78-9C66-DCAC2C9A2513.jpg 8B755C06-2E14-4DE0-A209-3D07D88A041A.jpg

    It’s a mall crawler and never goes off-road. :D

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Not often you hear of a tractor as a mall crawler! I've seen Toyotas like mad, both mall crawlers and off road. Heck, around here, the Toyotas come out of the woodwork every fall. People here love em, especially in the snow.
Never a tractor, though. The only time I see a tractor is if we get more than 6" of snow, then they come out and plow the roads in my subdivision. And if we have trouble getting out of our driveway in winter, the guy that does my yard work comes with his tractor and plows out my driveway for me.

Oh, yeah! I had to rewire a 1920 something, I think, tractor for my father-in-law. It was a cluster, but I got it back to factory. Pretty much :) He got it repainted by his brother, who did paint-n-body work, and sold it for a small fortune. Did that for his 57 Chevy coupe, too. Bought it old and beat up, sold it as almost new condition. He did put a V8 racing engine and tranny in it he had laying around, though.

BUT, I've never seen a tractor mall crawling.

    Have fun, all!
    Pat☺

I was making fun of the whole mall crawler thing. This tractor gets a lot of use from hauling huge tree trunks, firewood, and gravel in the loader, clearing fields and bush hogging grown up areas, lifting and pushing blown-down trees off of the fences, grading and graveling the farm road, tearing down an old barn, and tilling our gardens. The reason it still looks new is because it is or was new last September... 2020 model. In its short 47 hours of life, it has done a lot. I love it! This is our little garden I tilled up back in the spring.

I took this a few days ago in response to the challenge but I haven't had a chance to post until now. We moved from California to Ohio and this was where we camped on night 1, off I-80 about fifty miles west of SLC, UT. This was morning of day 2.

    DSC_0011 (2).jpg

It was not my choice to drag all this shit with us. My druthers would have been to sell everything but our cars (as we did when we moved to Calif 5 years ago) but my wife was insistent on keeping most of our crap. So, that stupid U-Haul and trailer cost $4800 to rent. It got under 9 miles a gallon so gas for both vehicles was about $2000. Then halfway there, as we were sitting on the side of I-80 in Nebraska waiting for U-Haul to send help when the trailer got a flat (because they don't give you a spare!), my wife was like: "maybe we should have sold everything and moved light". Gah!!!!!!!!!

On the plus side the 4Runner got (incredibly) over 25 mpg average on the trip. No shit! Lifted on 33s and with those kayaks on the roof, bikes on the back, and weighed down with the cargo area totally full! I assume it was because she was able to drive it at approximately 50 mph (about as fast as that dumb U-Haul would go) and draft the U-Haul.

But hey, we made it with most of our stuff and our relationship still intact!

    .

    .

Next up, your 4Runner, Tacoma, Crown Vic, 2019 E450 15' box truck, or -ish vehicle with a real estate 'sold' sign.

Our original plan was to sleep in the trucks but that proved....um... uncomfortable the first night. I laid across the bench of the Uhaul with two large dogs; and Meredith slept in her driver's seat which couldn't recline.

    20210712_060627.jpg

So after that we dug out the tent and air mattress and used them for nights 2 and 3. Much better! Night 2 we renegade camped at a church in NE and night 3 we renegade camped at a village green in IL.

Bump for a "dead end" sign

I wonder if these aren't regional... I've been looking locally and all I find are "no outlet". Then I was on the bike in WV yesterday and they were all "dead end"...

Now that you mention it, I always thought that perhaps high value neighborhoods might object to being labeled with a “dead end” sign, so a “no outlet” sign was devised to be less offensive to their tender feelings.

But looking further it turns out that there actually is a slight difference. For example, from Ohio DOT:
    https://www.dot.state.oh.us/Divisions/Planning/LocalPrograms/LTAP/Documents/DEAD_END_and_NO_OUTLET_Signs.pdf

“The DEAD END (W14-1) sign (see Figure 2C-5) may be used at the entrance of a single road or street that terminates in a dead end or cul-de-sac. The NO OUTLET (W14-2) sign (see Figure 2C-5) may be used at the entrance to a road or road network from which there is no other exit.”

So the “No Outlet” would be used when a small neighborhood composed of several streets has only one entrance back to the main street.

That ain't gonna happen here in East Tennessee, so I will have to await the next challenge. I'm not sure if we even have college football anymore.

Hey @MeefZah ...is it acceptable to answer one's own photo challenge after several days of no one else doing it?

Or should a new challenge be issued?

Since the reset of a local landmark can be used at this time and since most major sports arenas are local landmarks, you can use the sports venue and do the reset to issue a new challenge.
