Got the winch in there by using an 84-86 style grille from rock auto.

Drove 2hrs each way to Charlotte yesterday. 15.5 mpg. Not bad. Wishing I had gone with 4.88 gears instead of 5.29 for highway driving. @ 65mph, RPMs are 3100.

You get your hot start problem figured out?

Not completely. I’d like to dig into things further but besides that small drop in RPMs during specific conditions, the engine runs like a scalded cat so I may just live with it. It ran perfect to and from Charlotte. It had 5 hours between stoping and restarting on this trip so the hot start issue didn’t come into play.

Hey man! How is your ARB compressor holding up? Saw the install pics and I'm thinking of the same thing. Do you have an air tank connected as well? Forgive me if you answered these questions and I missed them

It’s awesome. The arb compressor performance is unmatched. There is no tank. Don’t need one just to fill tires on the 4Runner. The compressor in the truck only runs air lockers. If you want to run tools get the dual model.

Great thanks for the info! And yes, I was thinking of getting the dual.

Going to have to wait on the dual ultimate setup, if ever. We’ll see if I get this case before August. I ordered through Dave’s Offroad performance because it seemed the best of options/price point. Then I read tons of reviews saying that Dave’s Offroad performance is terrible to deal with. Hope to be surprised....

New clinometer. It’s a sweet little gadget and classic Toyota.

which inclinometer is that? I've been looking at Amazon and other places and cannot find one that doesn't have terrible reviews.

That is factory 88 sr5. There are a few on eBay for really expensive right now. When you find one make sure you get the bracket and wiring pigtail. They can be difficult to find for a fair price.

Once in a blue moon you can find one that is not so expensive. I kept my eye on local Facebook for sale and scored one for much cheaper than eBay prices.

Ahh ok. Thank you but I do have the original still in the glove box. Maybe pass it on to a person more in need.

I give to the truck and it takes. It would not start this evening when I jumped in to come to work.

All other electrical components work fine so I’ll start troubleshooting the starter/relay/solenoid tomorrow after I get off night shift.

I can turn the key, hear one click, and dash lights dim. I have done a little searching around for pointers and have a general direction to go. Does anyone have input or experienced the same?

Battery would be my first check, then connections. These things are pretty finicky if the battery is acting up.

My guess is battery or solenoid. Or cable/post corrosion. Seems like summer is always a battery kill time.

Battery and battery post connections are brand new.

A little wiggle of the small wire feeding the solenoid coil on the starter and it fired right up. I’ll investigate that connection a little better when I have more time.

The case is stabbed. Had to order a new rear driveshaft. The slip joint was completely compressed when mounted in place. It’s like wiping my ass with $100’s lately. Fuck.

A-pillar grab handle is the best mod to the 4Runner that I’ve ever done. I Instantly missed it from using the handle every day in the Tacoma.

Not at all. The air bag sits at the back of the A-pillar.
