In that case they definitely need to go on the wall of shame. I could possibly excuse a one-time mistake, but I recall they had a Black Pro listed on their site last month for less than MSRP. Definitely a deliberate pattern.

Sorry for the bad lead. Good luck in your search.

Hey gang, I was stocking one of my localish dealers for a manual tacoma. Saw this thought I should post it here. Looks like he has 2.

Does the sport have a manual 4x4 selector and Locking rear axle ? You can allways add a locker … the most important option is the 2wd / 4x4 manual selector … all wheel drive is just a mall crawler , you can add just about everything else to your liking .

I don’t think so, it’s a watered down limited, which has the knob.

I was offered one at MSRP this weekend, but I can’t live with the color.

Only the off road and pro comes with rear locking differentials. Yeah you can always add lockers, but most wouldn't tear into a brand new vehicle to just add lockers when they can obtain it from factory? Wouldn't most want that factory look anyways? That's why I recommend to just buy an OR or an ORP over the others if a 3rd row is not needed. It's only a few k difference in pricing. I know Toyota built so many of the 5th gens with lockers but if you look at history some of the 3rd and 4th gens came with OEM rear locking diffs and hard as heck to locate. Owners tend to hold onto them.

Thats the other thing about the sr5's/limited models. They're electronically controlled whereas the OR/ORP and Pro are manual which I prefer. Less electrical failures.

Yes, you're right. The venture in the earlier year came equipped with lockers but that model has been discontinued by Toyota for 22. For the 22 model these (OR/ORP and Pro) were the only ones that comes equipped with rear lockers.

If toyota wanted to capitalize they should only build the pro with the rear locking diff feature. Every other model would just be basic standard 4x4 and AWD features with center lock diffs and LSD. If you really wanted a locking rear diff, gotta pay up and get the best! Plus it'll hold it's resale value much better. Example, the 2009 4runner had only one trim with rear lockers. JMHO :D

There is a 22 Lime Rush Pro 4R on the Darcars Toyota of Frederick, MD lot. It has been on the lot for over a week now. Plus a MGM and AG (trims unknown)!

Unsurprisingly, the white one is already spoken for and I assume the others are as well. I think any TRD Pros that show up on dealer sites are already allotted to someone in line. At least in the Denver area. I don’t even bother calling about them anymore. Erin was very nice though and they do not charge market adjustments like you said. Might put another deposit down with them along with the one I have with Mountain States.

If you want to drive to MN, St Cloud Toyota has one on their website. I linked it here or somewhere else a while back. They took mine off the website as soon as I paid the deposit, so I'd assume this one is available.

I've spoken with the guys at McDonald in Greeley - agree that they're helpful and only charge MSRP. They quoted 4-6 months if I remember correctly, so it's a reasonable assumption that any Pros on their site are spoken for.

Have you considered having it shipped? When I was looking, it was going to be around $600 for ~1000 miles - not awesome but far less than the market adjustments, particularly if there's one in-stock that you can have in your driveway in a week. Good luck with your search.

It crossed my mind but I want to trade in my current car and use the sales tax credit against the new 4Runner.

Good info. There must be a reason why it’s been on the lot for over a week.

The status is Dealer Hold so it is probably spoken for already. Maybe different salespeople handle what shows up on the website differently, and some stay on until they're officially sold while others are removed upon deposit. Just a thought.

This one has a hold status of Available, so maybe it actually is. This is the first time I've seen a vehicle that says available in the MN area since I've been stalking 4Runners (since last November).

Yeah I've been doing the same since I put my deposit down in July. It's really unusual to see a Pro that's on a website and still available and at MSRP. That dealer doesn't appear to use Autotrader etc, so I'm sure that helps. Also, more of us idiots that are obsessed with these things have already found one I suppose.

Ended up scoring an allocation in December and it landed at port 12/28 and was delivered to Columbus, OH yesterday. ORP with moonroof and steps for MSRP. Toyota West in Columbus is the jam.

Did it get shipped into Portland? Mine also got there on 12/28, but hasn't hit freight status to MN yet.

Yes, Portland port. I was also told that they are seeing a lot of vehicles show up differently than how they were ordered. PPO options like trd wheels/skid plate/etc are being left off.

Yep, mine had a few options taken off the list as it left the port. The dealer ended up being able to score some TRD wheels so I ended up getting them, but it came down to the wire because he was having a hard time finding them. It also wasn't the "wheel package" so I ended up with the Dunlop tires instead of the Nitto tires that the TRD wheels normally come with.

Well....I gave up waiting for the 2022 Pro (it's only been a month); but I found the one I really wanted for about 10k cheaper!! Win Win....She arrives in 23 days; 2022 TRD OR XP Predator in Lunar Rock; only thing she's missing is the pro roof rack. Super excited, after already waiting for a month; 23 days is nothing :)
