Very happy. Outside of this COVID market, I would have projectile vomited on the deal at $2k over. But, I’m living in this market and found the exact car I wanted for a fraction of what most are paying….. Those that are able to get MSRP (which still sounds dumb when said out loud) sometimes have to travel, wait a while, or settle on a car color\options. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

I found a white Pro at MSRP if you're interested.

I haven't confirmed that it's available, but they took mine off the website as soon as it was spoken for. They have a couple ORPs, too.

Thanks! I live in Virginia so that would be a little bit of a trek for me. I've got 2 other dealerships keeping an eye out for me. Right now all the dealerships around me only have limited's in stock and I just don't think they look good at all. But thanks for looking out :)

Where are you getting yours? If yours is already allocated though, and it's what you want, I'd probably stick with it.

I'm in the nw suburbs of Minneapolis. I've got a Lunar Rock ORP with everything I want, except it's missing the KDSS at the Mankato Toyota dealership. It's going to be here the week of 1/24. I'm just going to wait for what I have coming.

Put a deposit down for an ORP in early October. Just got an email this AM while I was outside moving all the heavy wet snow. They have a silver one with KDSS but no MTM coming in February. No moonroof so that's a big plus. I think I'll get it and just put on a front camera. Oh, and it's at MSRP.

Wanted to just follow up with my ongoing efforts to turn my MGM ORP to a PRO. So one of the last things I wanted to do quickly after getting my 4runner...was to upgrade the stock suspension to some Fox 2.0 front coil-overs and Fox 2.0 rear shocks. So I finally got my truck back from the shop today. I will talk about the scratches and dent they added to my 4runner (with only 316 miles) in another rant post...but here, we're talking about the positive stuff. With this suspension change, I gained 2 inches in the front and an inch in the rear (added 1 inch spring spacer cause I wanted to keep a little forward rake). The truck looks great...hard to keep clean with the snow here on the east coast...but she has to get dirty at some time. The other easy change was the hood scoop from the stock MGM to the Matte Black like on the PROs. Outside of some of the additional electronic and radio upgrades on the PRO...My OPR is pretty darn close. You know PRO spelled backwards is ORP!! So if your holding out for a PRO and the sometimes 6 month wait...upgrading an ORP maybe an option.

@steelyhead That's faster than I have heard of anyone getting theirs. Congrats. And, I see you had time to get the tires dirty already. Enjoy!

Went on a waiting list for an ORP in LR in early October with a high volume dealer. Offered ORP’s in other colors during my wait, but wanted LR so I held out. I checked other dealers via autotrader almost daily and found one last week Thurs at another local dealer and bought it immediately.

Bingo! Was originally on a list with Wilde in Milwaukee, but Smart got this in last week. How it made it all the way to the lot without being spoken for is beyond me.

I inquired about that one too but they wanted to mark it up 3k because I'm in MN. At that point the price tag was into TRD Pro range so I declined, hopefully they didn't hit you too hard with the mark up. The salesman told me it was for someone else that had put a deposit on it and then no longer wanted it.

That does look nice though. It had everything I wanted(minus the wheels because I wanted to buy those separate).

Small world. I got it at MSRP and they gave me $300 less than Carvana on my trade. When I walked out the door, the salesman told me there were 5 buyers behind me waiting. I asked about their Pro pricing. They said they’re marking up all Pros of any model $5k.

Best of luck in your search!

Yeah - I currently have a Lunar Rock ORP without KDSS coming at the end of January but inquired about that one because of the KDSS. I'll be saving 1750 but I kinda want the KDSS. In this market, we can't be too choosey unless you're willing to wait.

Put a deposit on a white TRD Pro on December 22nd at Mountain States Toyota in Denver. They said 4-6 months. While its an excruciatingly long time because I really want one right now, I just want it before summer so I have the whole season to take it out on the trails.

I wanted the sliding cargo tray, but they said I might be waiting forever if I specced that. None of the new 4Runners (pre-sold) on their lot had one either. Anyone else heard of this being hard to get?

Yes I heard it was hard to get, and also recall one rumor and it was a rumor that they would not be putting any more in at factory

I wanted one too and my dealership said they hadn’t seen one come in for a long time so not to hold my breath. Sounds like they’re phasing out.

I think the lists are long right now (or just many people in front you) for pro. My brother tried to get a lime green and I think 20 people in front. Last year it took me 10 months to get a TRD Pro DC LR Tundra.

I called my salesperson on Friday with what I wanted (TRD ORP w/sunroof & KDSS, white or LR). Last time I called, he said what I wanted would take months, but he'd keep an eye out.

Anyway, he called this morning and said one to my specs just docked (I'm assuming in LA?) and he'd put my name on it for MSRP, so I pulled the trigger.

I’m guessing there are many people in line for a pro. If you’re at least the fourth or fifth person in line for a pro, expect that you probably may not even see your 2022 pro this year or at all. The first two customers may be the only ones getting them this year. That’s just what one dealer mentioned to me.

Though I did read somewhere that Toyota will be upping production in 2022 due to them having this chip shortage figured out, then again who knows how true that is. If I could get a pro I would, but knowing that it may not even be possible, I’ll stick to my 22 ORP.

I called for my brother at the dealer I have ordered a few Pros from. If you dont care for color you will probably get a pro in 2022. Im gonna bug them and see if we can snag one for him.

But I agree get the ORP, if you really want one. I have seen a lot of lime greens around but who knows how many they will pump out. Im a fan of all the pro colors, lime green looks sharp but I think the Voodoo Blue looks the best.

If they are upping production, it’s probably the TRD Sports. That’s all I see on the dealership’s websites. I’m assuming they’re trying to push those since it’s a new model but IMHO, their look is not appealing.

Congrats, I’ve been having the “I don’t think we can get KDSS” conversation, they seem to be very few on the east coast, and I’m not sure if any up here in New England.

I really wanted KDSS but decided to snatch up the army green ORP that became available without it. Guess we'll see how an aftermarket suspension compares soon enough!

Get kings KING 25001-278A and KING 25001-125A. Night and day difference over the OEM Pro.

I don’t want a moon roof, but if I have to get one, then I’ll take a pro. I have given up on my KDSS hopes.
