Thank you! I'm so used to the old wheels, I'm having a hard time deciding if I like them. :D

    I think I do. It's just weird.

    Lol! I figured the ? was a typo. :)

I know these aren't the ideal tires for this time of year, but I wanted to drive around and get a feel for them before switching back to the Toyos. I like them so much that I've decided to keep them on for my trip to Florida. They're not obnoxiously loud, and ride great for an MT, as far as I can tell.

I'm also very happy with the wheels!

I wish I had pictures of all the Toyota's I have had. My First Toyota was a 1968 two door Corona the Guy was asking $100 for it he could not get it to run so he took $50 and I had it running 30 minutes latter by taking a nail file to the points and drove it out of his driveway! then I had a 73 Carina also fun car till a drunk smashed in to it when it was parked one night. So I picked up a 1972 two Door Corolla for free with an Automatic that was toast put a 4 speed manual in it and ran that thing to the ground after that I got my first real Car a 1978 Toyota Corona 4 door it looked like a little Mercedes Benz I put a lot of money into that car from custom wheels to custom upholstery hot date car that was but got rear ended at a stop light so that fun ended.

after that I had a 1978 Toyota HiLux pickup 4x4 it was in Rough shape and cost too much for me at the time former owner did not take care of it so I ended up with a Volkswagen Rabbit followed that with a 73 Beetle somehow I got in to a 4 x 4 Toyota Tercel wagon Sold that and got a 1989 Toyota 4 Runner that was super fun take that back roof off and away we went! had oil and filter change done at Shop and they double gasketed the Filter and wiped out the engine so took them to Court got a new engine (short block) sold that and got a 1985 Toyota Mr2 with the big spoiler on the back got my first speeding ticket doing 85 in a 55 woops oh well... Moved on from that into a 1995 Toyota 4Runner that thing was awesome 5 speed manual.

After that I had a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4 x 4 great truck sold that at 237,000 miles on it and had a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser that I traded in at 167,000 miles and got a 2007 Tundra limited 4 x 4 traded that tundra in and walked out with a New 2018 Toyota Trd Pro Tacoma 6 speed manual great truck off road but those engines just don't have balls for the highway and so Now there is a 2007 SCSB Tundra SR5 in the stable sitting next to my 2020 Trd Pro 4Runner. So needless to say it has been a great run with Toyota's I know I missed a car or two but they were not Toyota's so I guess it don't matter...

@Thatbassguy Thought I'd stop in and say hi! Your truck looks killer with the tires!

Not sure if I'm seeing things, but are those stock mud flaps on your truck?

Edit: The mudguards/flaps on the 4runner don't seem to do that much. In general, I kinda like the mudflap look....maybe one day I'll be sporting something like these (kidding, no but seriously)

    Thank you!

The mudflaps are Rokblokz, regular size.

I'm copying you with those tires but in 285. Probably will get the same mudflaps.

Have my 4Runner over at the local body shop getting a BMC done + UCA's added. Then it will go across the street for 285's and alignment.

I was struggling with where I should take it to do a BMC. The guy I used to install my lift didn't want the work. He said he's done them before but they were too time / labor intensive. Was reading through one of the articles on it and spotted the words "body shop" and thought to myself - Duh! any body shop ought to be able to do it. Plus there is one about 3 miles from my house.

Question, did you need the front bumper cuts to fit 285 / 295 tires?

Nice! I can't say for sure whether I really needed the bumper cuts, as I did them while I still had stock size tires. My guess is you can probably get by without if you adjust the fender liners and mudflaps, and get the right alignment.

Post pictures when you get the tires installed. :)

My Pro didn't need additional front bumper trimming. Yours might need a touch if it hasn't been cut at port if it isn't a Pro. It would be super simple to do if you need to.
What type of UCA are you getting? I ran SPCs and never had to do the BMC on 285's because was able to push the wheels forward. No rubbing and I wheeled it frequently. Was also able to keep the mud flaps. This was on stock pro wheels.

    Thanks.
I have SPC UCA's going on. Sticking with the gray TRD stock wheels. I'll look into the port cut. Have read about it before.

You will be good with the SPCs.
Slight trim on the front bumper and you will be good to go.

Initial drive impressions - I'm really liking the ride with SPC UCA's and 33's. The steering wheel has tightened up. Was really loose with OEM UCA's and Eibach Pro Truck Lift. No issues with acceleration with the taller heavier tires. The Sprint Booster really helps.

They do seem a bit louder than the Falken Wildpeak AT's I had on there. Not worried about that as I bought this to Off Road.

They definitely make some noise. They seem better at highway speed than at lower cruising speeds, or maybe it's just my perception. I can't wait to try them in some dirt!

Finding, Loud Tires are kinda like Loud Pipes - both scare the deer away from the road.

I decided to experiment with relocating the spare. This also meant that I would need to modify the sleeping platform.

I also had been thinking about modifying the platform so I could fit the cooler in on the floor so it would be easier to get into while it's in the 4Runner.

I measured the space leftover with the cooler behind my seat, and cut the platform down.

    20210321_100142.jpg

It looks so tiny now! :(

    20210321_102920.jpg

The cooler can just slide past the wheelwell.

    20210321_103344_HDR.jpg

I strapped the spare in with a ratchet strap. It stays put pretty well, but I might build a box to stabilize it more and keep it from rubbing the back seat when it's up.

I also added some loops and hooks to my half ass molle panel to secure things better and make them easier to remove.

Now I just need more stuff to hang on it. :D

You seem like a perfect candidate for a swing out spare tire carrier.

But some people aren't into them and I get that.

    Have you considered one?

RSG sliders, Yakima offgrid basket, Pro-Comp wheels, SOS Streamline bumper and skids, Warn VR EVO10S winch + Ultimate Sidewinder, Bilstein 6112 + 5100 + rear lift coils, Rigid Dually SS ditch lights w/Caliraised brackets and OEM style dash switch
I looked at them. I would rather get a hybrid bumper with a swing-out if I went that way.

Right now, I don't want it in the way of my liftgate. And, I don't want an extra 100+ LBS hanging off the back of the 4Runner. My current goal is keeping everything heavy inside and as low as possible. If course, this may change down the road.
