Looks like you nicked something sharp.

Your wheel has a scuff right below it as well.

Did you get the tire insurance?

    Nope!

Based on the corresponding gash in my wheel, the tire held up pretty well to whatever I did to it.

I have yet to sustain that kind of damage at the Piggly Wiggly. But my day will come, no doubt...

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
Found a similar cut on one of my Falken Wildpeak tires. Paid for all the additional insurance at Discount Tire and had them swap it out.
Also bought another tire for the spare. DT put the new tires on the rear and swapped the spare out with one of the 3 older tires.

Nicely done! Is this trail near the trench? I remember you’d talked about it but didn’t remember wher it was.

    How many were in attendance?

It's the rocky hill that ran parallel to the last hill we all went down in August. I think we all stopped at the top before going down that hill where we all spotted each-other

Yes. I thought it would be easier to maintain control if I was fighting gravity. It was so fun!

I've been thinking about getting a second set of wheels and tires for wheeling trips and mall crawler shindigs.

Anywho, I ordered a set of these wheels:

Simulated pic from the manufacturer's website..

    Screenshot_20201113-054816_(1).jpg

They're back ordered, but I don't need them until spring anyway. I have plenty of time to pick out tires. I am heavily eyeballing the Yokohama Geolander MT's. Toyos look awesome, too, but pretty expensive. I am still just looking.

Im thinking of doing this too. FN sells a pro wheel thats an inch wider and id love that for something more aggressive tire wise that I wouldnt want to drive daily. That or those and then having my stock pro wheels have snow focused tires.

What about the kevlar sidewall wrangler M/TR? (what id think of using with the wider wheel) Ive seen only good things from these yet they dont seem mentioned often on this forum.

I've read good things about the Wranglers as well. I just never really looked into them as an option. I've had good experiences with 2 sets of Yokohamas in the past.

I am thinking the same thing, basically. The Toyos will be the all-season/winter tires, and the MT's will be on during the warm months. I might even go to an SL rated tire, or true winter tire after the Toyos wear down, if the MT's are comfortable enough to use for most of the year.

I’ve wondered about those myself. Aside from the expensive of them, there are a couple of Australian guys on YT that beat the snot out of them.

I bought a set of steel wheels off of Ebay. Now am looking for 285/70R17 tires.
Can't make up my mind. Might just go with E-rate KO2 AT's.

I thought about steelies, as these will be my wheeling tires. But, I saw the Stadiu on Black Rhino's website, and really liked them.

KO2's were good tires for me. Reviews are mixed, but more positive than negative.

The wrangler with Kevlar are great tires. I know a guy who has ran them and they’re tough! He abused them! And they look really good in person.

I doubt I would go for the Goodyears either way. They do look nice, though.

I was pretty set on the Yokohama or Toyo MT, but Nate at Performance Off-road threw a wrench in yesterday. I dropped off some $$ to get wheels ordered, and he showed me his Mickey Thompsons, which he wheels the shit out of. 4 years of abuse, and they still look good! They're beat up, but no punctures or chunks missing.

I probably won't make up my mind until the last minute.
