What’s up guys. I’m new here. Just bought a 1987 4runner 22re automatic. From Kaufman, Tx. Here are some recent shots of my rig, Tanto and my quicksand peeking in the back lol.

Anybody have a good thread they followed for the BMC? Mounting up some 285/70/17 that were gifted to me and I don’t have a lift. Looking to preemptively take care of some stuff.

My search-fu isn’t turning up anything of value.

Beef, I had to lift the wife’s 4Runner to get that size on based on everything I read. If you go to a 295 you half to do cmc. Input my old wheels that I got from the Tacoma on for her as she liked them.

I haven’t found any rubbing yet and I was blasting every turn I could. They’re stock offset and only 7” wide, so I think I’ll be ok until I get the 17” Chadspride special

Was hoping to get started on some things to making lifting less of an ordeal.

Ya I had an 8” wide rim to deal with so I was screwed, good thing though is the speedometer is on target with the tire change which still baffles me but I’m good with that.

Now just picked a set of Diaz horns enroute so that will be a nice addition, small but nice.

Worst case - cut the bm off and weld the plates on later .. I rolled around on my taco(s) like this for a couple years before actually getting around to welding the plates on.

I did a little sanding down the wheel well and mud flaps on my 2010 Trail.4Rnnr_3.jpg
Then I found this video tutorial on YouTube that I wish I would have found earlier.

    https://youtu.be/ApZ1_K77zMc

I still plan on doing this to mine for added clearance. I have Stealth Custom Series Stealth 6, 17-8.5" wheels. Tires are 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Bilstein shocks all around. Front shocks are set at 1.75".

What part of Texas? Lots of OHV parks on the east side of the state, a little more “adventure” on the west side. Mountains: no.

Just started getting into runners because the wife got another one, but you’re more than welcome to hang out with us here.

I’m sure there are runner groups, but I don’t care enough to find them. Government land is sparse here, you’d have to head toward either coast to really get some scenery.

Also, we have red dirt. That shit will be with you forever.

Central Texas (Austin area) you have Hidden Falls about an hour west.
    http://www.hiddenfallsadventurepark.com/

For a good beach run, there's a 61 mile stretch at South Padre Island National Seashore (SPINS), just south of Corpus Christi.
