I’m not sure girlcat’s wiper freezes and won’t activate. For me, the snow and grit collects on the rear tailgate and eventually the wiper loses its flexibility. Once the ice makes it rigid, it’ll only clear a small strip of the rear glass. It’s pretty easy to free it up, but if the road conditions are bad, it’ll get caked up with snow and ice again pretty quick. All of our SUVs have the same issue.

I do turn on the front and rear glass heaters and rear wiper is in intermittent mode. Conditions may vary for sure. But just sharing what I do if it helps in anyway.
