I agree. Gen5 does have nice balance and nice steering. I LOVE that I can feel what the rear wheels are doing. Big crossovers, even ones that get reviews for great handling like CX9, feel like bloated pigs where the front tires do all the work and the rear responds about two seconds after the front on turn-ins.All the reviews complement the Gen6's road behavior and it seems to have delivered the fun image the chief engineer wanted (fun to drive and made to go do fun things).

Dual sports are my favorite too. This new Suzuki looks perfect to me.

This is what happens when you demand things. Toyota gave you more options, swaybar disconnect, bigger tires etc, but then this happened. I hope the SR5 is not what we fear here and is a proper 4Runner.

Yeah but you have that tiny Dana 30 upfront that I wouldn't trust for even 35s.

31 and 32s with good treads on a base JL is fine for 95% of offroading. I know 35s look nice but I personally haven't run too many rigs with over 33s in my life and I have done my share of off-pavement stuff.

Perhaps we can compare a 35k JL with a 35K 4Runner and see how it comes out.

If Toyota sold these trucks with cheaper components for cheaper costs than I would be all for it. But they are insisting on charging more for less. Most people don’t really need heavy duty parts anyways.

Part of it is on the customers, I have no illusions about it. They keep buying and companies are only rational to sell what people will buy.

None of our opinion matters as long as keyboard warriors have the desire to pay 60k for a mid trim 4Runner to drive to the office.

Just saw a Turd Jon video and he says the SR5 doesn’t actually come with heated seats even though the ones at the press event had them.

Just too much. I used to have a notebook computer smaller that.

Just did a quick search and no SR5 in transit or stock within 250 miles of me, located in the SF Bay Area. Within 500 miles only 6 in transit, 39 other trims but no pro/trail hunters/limited yet.

Should be interesting to see if Toyota in fact builds SR5s in same number as they did with 5th gen.

According to the Toyota site the SR5 comes with 245/70/17. 30.5 inches.

There’s a lot of conflicting info out there. Maybe the press vehicles had bigger wheels and tires on them? In one of the SR5 videos the reviewer said it had 18” wheels. Weird.

Maybe so, but we know that the TRD Off Road has 265 70 18 which is almost 33 and from the pics I've seen the SR5 definitely has smaller.

Man, I’m disappointed he doesn’t show any of the underside or what’s changed since ‘24. I want to know for sure if the skids are gone!

I'm usually one that lives by the moto of...buy the lowest priced cuz I'm gonna swap things out to better/what i want anyways.

But the free publicity marketing toyota went for with these past couple releases is just confusing. Inviting just every youtuber to do your marketing is giving conflicting info and mixing up the stats on the 9,132 different combinations of trims and options.

Its cheaper, but not that much cheaper. When someone rear ended the Corolla S we got a normal Corolla to drive, it was a totally different vehicle. Not nearly as nice.

If you go to 1:12 he confirms 245/70/17 and mentions the 33's are on the TRD Off Road. This matches what the Toyota website says so I think it's confirmed.

That looks goofy. The tires look extra small inside of the massive black fender flares.

265/65-17 is equivalent in height. Would like to see how they would fit and look hopefully without rubbing.

Yeah, the body and flares got bigger than the 5th gen and they downsized the tires. It really was designed for the 33's on the TRD OR.

That sucks. All 5th gen trims had 32s. This SR5 is compromised, watch out folks!

I foresee a thriving aftermarket body color fender flare wrap/cover industry.
