Yep! More or less about 90% of the way. If I didn't have the propane tank on the tongue then it would open all the way.

Thanks for sharing. That was one reason I got the 4Runner was tailgate. I wish I could have hooked up my trailer real time with a GX. I measured it but it seemed tight with my boat trailer.

Really liking the GX, does it have more interior space than the 4runner?

Good question, I would venture to guess it’s about the same but I would compare online. Certainly depending on the third row configuration would impact space in either one also

When the kids were little we had a pop up. Fun times. We have a hardside camper now we tow with our 4runner. Really enjoy it.

I can tell you that there is not much more than my old 4runner. My wife has a 2018 4runner and I cannot notice a major difference. I believe I am working with a little more but not as much as someone would imagine.

I really dig the GX and it has some significant advantages over the 4R, chief among them a V8 with the same basic MPG. But it is significantly smaller inside. It has 64.7 cubic feet behind the front seats, compared with 88.8 on the 4R. Besides the price difference (and that grill!) this is a main reason I went with the 4R.

Wow, I'm surprised the space is smaller behind the front seats, guess it's due to the third row?? Good to know.

I have the captains chairs in the back and for what I need to throw back there (yeti, dog, few bags, etc) the space is doable. The captains chairs and the space between make it seem like I have a little more space. But no denying that when I load the GX and then laid my wife's 4runner, not a massive difference. But the V8 makes up for it all, hahaha.

is it pretty roomy? I've got a deposit down on a new sequoia for my wife. Everything I'm reading says they are teeny tiny inside and have literally no leg room in the third row so now I'm looking at other options.

Got out to Prosser Lake today with the fam. Some great trails and a shit ton of dirt. The GX handled everything with ease but I wish I had some more armour underneath to tackle some more rocky areas that I didn't want to mess with. Great times!

Been a while but finally got a chrome delete on the GX. I really am just not a chrome person. Same shop that has done all of my tints did the chrome delete. They did an awesome job. Also tinted the tail lights and put a slight tint on each Lexus symbol. I know I might get ban for my comments but I like to be honest. IMO tinting rear lights and headlights are bad choice. Especially rear lights, if anyone rear ends the insurance will more likely be against you. I got rear ended one time on my stock Rav4 and the other party / their insurance tried to get away from it. Pics and police report saved me.
