How do they compare to the TRD wheels weight-wise?

The reported weights look lighter, but dimensionally they are slightly larger. It makes me curious. I'd love if someone could actually get real-life weights on them both.

Well, I pulled the trigger this AM…. Will be getting BFG KO2s this afternoon and I ordered the Sherpa Crestone roof rack and a C4 Fab Summit Ladder.

Stock size tire? Are you adding the roof rack? If you are removing the roof rack watch a lot of you tube videos or search posts about removing it. I had no issue when I removed mine on my 20 AG Pro.

Yep, I’m not messing w/ suspension or tire size anytime soon. (I bought the 10 year Toyota warranty and don’t want to give Toyota an out if something goes wrong). I’ve studied all the videos and like Wescot Design and Sherpa’s Crestone roof rack…it came down to Sherpa using the rubber mounts vs Silicone RTV and I also like the fact that the Crestone doesn’t actually touch and rub the paint. The C4 Fab and Wescot ladders are almost indentical. Each had pros and cons but I like the fact that C4 ladder had a definitive 3” measurement at the top to be marked off w/ masking tape on the left side, I also liked the foam padding in the area that touches the paint. Still pretty much the same. This will all be overkill because I’m only mounting a kayak…lol. The rest is for looks….

As far as removing the TRD Pro rack you may need to use heat because they have been locktited in as well as go back and forth on the bolts as not to lose the mounting bracket into the ceiling liner. Same on install, back and forth so the mounts don’t spin underneath the roof?

Yeah taking the extended warranty I agree on that with messing with the suspension. Sounds like you have it covered for removing the Pro rack. Post some pics when it’s all done.

I will. The KO2s look better than I expected. I went w/ C rated vs E because I’ll never really be rock crawling and stuff. I wanted a little more street comfort (litttle more sidewall flex) and little better mileage. Very pleased!!! 6 week lead time on the roof rack and ladder. Pics after that.

Did you go with white letters in or out? Look forward to seeing pics. I have the same truck in Solar Octane and am thinking about doing KO2s with white letters out, also in stock size.

I went with Blackwall out because that’s the theme I have kinda gone with from day one (Blacked out Toyota emblem etc…). I’ll have to look but I asked for the Blackwall specific which will be black on both sides. I also wondered what the white letters would look like on Solar Octane but just couldn’t see it working out. This color pops with black. My friend has a white SR5 w/ KO2s white letter out and I didn’t even notice her tires because once they get dirty the “wow” factor isn’t there. BTW…. Very comfortable riding tire (C rated at 39 PSI)…. But they make the truck feel heavier IMO… a lil more sluggish … lol

Update: I verified I did get the BFG KO2 Blackwall on both sides.

Nice! How do the C rated ones compare to the ride on the street with the stock tires? Want K02s but nervous about sacrificing the nice OEM ride. Definitely wasn’t considering E rated.

I’m getting a set with the white letters out put on my FN Overland Spec B wheels after the winter. If you’re not doing it right away, check back in March and I’ll throw some pics here.

Not sure how it will turn out but always knew that’s the combo I wanted ever since I saw it on an FJ with the OEM TRD beadlock wheels (OEM 16” version of my FN 17” Spec B wheels) years ago. We’ll see…..

    1) The ride is very nice and smooth, every bit as comfortable as the OEM tires and I 100% agree that this is probably due to the fact I went w/ the 6 ply vs the 10 ply KO2….. now we will have to see how many miles they stay like this. Keep in mind also that this Fox suspension isn’t even a year old also…. I think it could even soften the harshest of rides.

    2) As far as your build, I plan on sticking around and can’t wait to see it. My tires and wheels keep this dull flat appearance kinda like they are both covered in break dust …I’ve yet to do anything other than wash/rinse the wheels and tires. This is the first vehicle that looks good even when dirty. I think your build will look incredible but I picture you having to keep the tire’s clean and the letters white. It will be worth it though.

Good to hear, that makes me feel even better about going with the K02s!

Ya, you’re right about the wheels/tires. Granted I’m gonna use those only as my “summer” set and keep the OEM set for the dirty seasons/use but it’s still gonna be work.

I did just drop a ridiculous amount of money on the PPF/top level ceramic on the entire car, wheels, and FN wheels lol so hopefully that helps keep things cleaner. It’s made my life way easier with my other newer car.

Detail guy also suggested lightly smoking the taillights with his body shop guy. Said he adds a hint of tint to clear coat and recoats them so its subtle and looks factory…..chickened out because I want to see the FN wheels + white letter tires on first but another thing I’m considering too.

Hope to see more of people’s SO trucks here, both modded and stock. Never know how stuff will look until you actually see it on the color.

I really like the new rear taillight from Morimoto I seen the one you tuber add them to his Calvary Pro. Instead of doing any tint on the rear taillights. Just a thought. That’s why I did PPF on my SO cause I had my 19 C7 Z06 completely done and it’s so easy to clean and take care of without getting chips in the paint.

This week I’m getting them mounted Tuesday or Wednesday with my work schedule and hours I had to wait till this week coming up. It feels like it’s taking forever. Lol. Im glad to have it back from the detailer.

Check out post 212 that pic was taken outside and this pic inside my garage with overhead lights. These FN wheels finish definitely should stand out. IMG_4606.jpg Just got done adding ceramic spray to them before they get mounted this week.

Wow, so those are the dark gloss gunmetal? They almost look black in that lighting.

What is your opinion on the FN center caps? I almost wish they were a little more like the factory wheels with a raised / tapered cap.

I was waiting for someone to mention that. Which I like that look. I think they will still look black at night but pop. Oh yes they are the dark gloss gunmetal.

A surprisingly small amount of reviews are available for these online…

Anyone have any experience with them?

My detail guy just sent me pics after tint:

    IMG_7505.jpg

    IMG_7506.jpg

Ceramic: 40% sunroof, 15% front windows, tint matched back windows (maybe 50%?), 5% rear window, and 5% windshield strip. Feel like it matches the black accents really nice.

Next up: prep/paint correction, PPF, and ceramic. Also ceramic coating the FN wheels for the spring. Can’t wait to get it back!

    Looks great!

Post some more pics with different angles and lighting conditions if you would whenever you get the time.

It’s so hard to decide what wheel color to choose with solar octane!

Looks awesome! Those look way more aggressive. How’s the noise/ride compared to stock?

I think they are just as good. No noise and ride good considering I also added 8 inch wheel. My stock Nitto’s had 230 miles on them. But love the more aggressive look.
