The fact that all this speculation and hype even exists, gives the unscrupulous dealers the confidence to go 15k over msrp. Here I'll start another thread about the 6th gen spare tire, that should tip the scales at 16k over msrp.

I mean honestly it’s a good question whether that’s a donut spare there. I’ve seen a thread about how much spare tire can fit under the Ford Maverick and how it fits. (deflated a little, does it run into this claw-like metal bit underneath? etc)

I had to ask if a full-size spare fit under my Sorento with an aftermarket tow hitch (no), but with a differently shaped one, I believe some have gotten one to fit.

Of course that won’t really be relevant until we can completely see the damn thing.

Even if this discussion board didn’t exist the dealers will always try to get away with as much as they can since they can always trim the price later. The forum says it has 34-something thousand members and that’s maybe a third of how many units moved last year only.

    OMG!
Don't love the silver valance or the name at the bottom, should be more prominent.
Exciting times. Hopefully still made in Japan. And looks maybe as good as 5th gen, which is a tough ask. Keep the roll down window in back.
I can barely contain my excitement!

Toyota could call a ham sandwich a Landcruiser and sell them. And socks here would be tripping over themselves to defend it. “The ham comes from rare Japanese pigs and the bread is made from rice! It is clearly a Landcruiser!”

I guess that’s what they have done with the Prado come to think of it. They call that pig a Landcruiser.

Best quote I’ve seen on this speculation…”there’ll be a riot if it doesn’t have a rear roll down window”

It doesn't make sense. Why have 3 vehicles so close in looks, capability, and perhaps powertrain too (detuned from lexus according to the exact model).

Looks like a cross between the Land Cruiser and GX rear designs.

Low brake lights, similar to GX.
Bend in the bottom of panel on tailgate, similar to GX.
Bumper side edges extend beyond tailgate, similar to GX.
Black valence above license, similar to Land Cruiser.
Taillights look closer to Land Cruiser design.

On their Instagram post, someone asked if the rear window will roll down and Toyota replied with the eyes emoji. .

I definitely think it will have it. They know their audience.

To hit different consumer price points.

    45k - 4Runner
    55k - Land Cruiser
    65k - GX

No point in trying to distinguish the "real" Land Cruiser. In countries where both the 150-series and 200/300-series are sold, like Australia, people call them both "Land Cruisers" along with the 70-series.

I think they are targeting the Ford Maverick crowd, $25K in US dollars is not out of the question. It may be based on a $13K platform so there is room, Ford Maverick's are $25K - $35K US dollars as well.

The New FJ Cruiser Could Use Toyota's $13,000 Truck Platform:
    https://www.motor1.com/news/713730/toyota-fj-cruiser-13000-truck-platform/

At least that's the way I see it, from a foreign county, the Republic of Texas

It doesn't cost Toyota that much to change a few bits of sheetmetal and plastic on the same frame. Think Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade.

Nice try, but that is patently false. In markets where the 300 and 70s are sold the 250 is called Prado and that includes GCC, Africa , Australia, S America, most of Asia...just a couple places. N America is the only place the 250 is called a Landcruiser. Get your facts straight, and get a passport.

All Prado really means is "light duty." Toyota does not hide that fact, they advertise it. Nothing wrong with light duty trucks. But for those of us who live outside the Midwest USA, and know that the world outside the city limits of Omaha really exists, the refusal of the ill informed here to accept reality is amusing.
