Slippery plastic rear bumper deck is hell on my dogs' egress and ingress.... any ideas?

I imagine that if you could imagine to go to their website, you could solve the weight and space requirement mystery

I did, because we have a 75 pound pit bull. The web site conveniently doesn't directly address either issue. As for weight, it looks like they fold up and you can wheel them around. They quote a maximum weight capacity, but not a product weight. That doesn't address how much I'd be required to lift int the T4R. I'm sure it weighs less than Herbie, but how much less? As for space requirements, even folded up, they appear to take up a good deal of space. Again, no folded dimensions mentioned. Nice concept though.

Oddly enough, we ran into exactly the same issue when looking for a dog boarding ramp for the boat. Great ideas, but virtually impossible to store on a 22' high performance boat.

Ah, didn't see that. Thank you for posting that info. It still takes up way too much space for me though. Good thing Herbie prefers the back seat and is more than willing to jump in and out.

The easiest, lowest spot to get a dog in the 4R is to remove the 40% rear seat bottom. I cover the carpet with a towel. My dog stays in the back seats because he loves the window being open. If I wanted him in the cargo area, I would still load him through the side door. Its safe, wide and easy/out.

@banxwondar question for you, is there a way to attach the canvasback bumper cover directly to the vehicle's tie-down's in the cargo area? (without the actual cargo liner). thanks!

Just get a rubber welcome mat to lay in the back, when you open the hatch pull the mat back enough to cover the top of the bumper. Sort of like this.

you might acutally be able to becuase its just a velcro backling. so if your cargo was not lined, you can just stick it to the carpet

Update. I mounted this today on the top of the rear bumper deck with double sided heavy duty Gorilla mounting tape..... VERY HAPPY...... Cleaned with alcohol and warmed with the heat gun.... exactly what I needed. It is very soft rubber and the perfect traction for a dog jumping up. I think it will last for at least a few years. $13 OTD and another few bucks for the tape. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XC1RHT5?ie=UTF8

I also bought the OEM carpet cargo mat from BAM to replace the slip and slide plastic cargo tray... PT208-89194-20 Toyota 4Runner Carpet Cargo Mat - w/o 3rd Row and w/o Cargo Tray - Black

will try and take some pics on our inaugural human/canine voyage
