Bulge on the side of the rear bumper reminds me of the elbows when dragons crawl around.

Was getting the 5k mile tire rotation service at the local dealership. They had a 25 trd ORP in the showroom. The pricing is getting CRAZY. IMG_0741.jpg IMG_0746.jpg IMG_0743.jpg IMG_0744.jpg IMG_0747.jpg

Is there actually a person out there that would pay an extra $6000 for wheels and tires? I sure hope not.

Oh my word, the upright iPad is truly horrible. Couldn’t they make even a slight attempt at integrating it with the dash in a manner that doesn’t look like a complete afterthought and hindrance to visibility?

Does it pop out to use at your campsite like the JBL speakers in the new Tacoma?

If you look at the sticker they had already charged a $1325 trd black wheel charge. The dealer installed options was a 6k upcharge for another wheel and tire.

I am sure. Who would pay the $60k without the wheels.

I purchased a new ORP for $45k last fall. So at $68k that’s a 51% price jump in less than one years time and you’re getting a 4 cylinder engine. Then you still have to pay taxes and all that nonsense on top of that. Absolutely insane. Then some people finance that price increase also so tack on paying more interest for overall increase. Astounding really if you think about it.

lol at that $6k tire and wheel package that’s being charged already on top of the 18” TRD wheels for $1k.

The only thing I’ll say is that my 2011 Limited stickered for $39.5k new back in October 2010. That’s ~$59k in today’s $. My local dealership had a 2025 Limited for $61k. Factoring in a generational increase of ~$2k, it’s not terrible.

A 4 cylinder engine with a lot more power than the outgoing V6.

I agree that the prices are ridiculous. But, I'm not going to complain about the engine. At least, not yet.

I'm with you. Maybe it is just me (and you) - but all these huge iPad looking screens in the new vehicles look stupid to me. They are made to look like they could come out - but they don't (and why would you want it to?). I guess it allows a larger screen - with the ability to replace it easier if it fails - but I absolutely hate the look also. I don't need/want a screen this big.

Not nearly as insane as how much they are charging Taco buyers while paying workers about 2 to 3 dollars an hour versus UAW wages back when they were made in NUMMI or even the San Antonio plant wages.

Remember only about a year ago people here were at each other's throat arguing over if a 55k 5th gen pro was a good buy over a 45k ORP?

    Simpler times, LOL.

To make it more rugged, I think the non-"Premium" OR comes with dual manual seats...look ma, less to go wrong, 60k well spent I guess. LOL.

    holy smokes dude....
On the sticker the bottom line in the right tab is the $1325 for the 18" black TRD wheel upgrade
The dealer charged $5,995 for a wheel and tire upgrade
This means whoever buys this should get an extra set of TRD black 18" wheels since they are paying for two sets. The set the vehicle came with (which is what is on the machine) and the set the dealer is charging for (but didnt install)
I'll guarantee the dealer simply swapped the OEM tires out for the Falkens which is about $1150 for the tires on all 4 corners. Rather than be a good dealer and put on a $1300 tire upgrade they tacked on a $5,995 tire and wheel upgrade and hope they can pull the wool over someones eyes hoping the person doesnt realize the vehicle already came with the black 18" wheels stock.

My wife bought a Honda Accord sport back in 2019 and did this. She had them swap the wheels out for the black wheels out of the Honda accessory catalog. They charged her like $2900 for the new wheels and sent her on her way. She showed up and i got to looking at the paper work and asked her where her stock wheels were cause she bought the car, AND bought the new wheels so she should have got the stock wheels in boxes.
It took the dealer over a month to produce the extra set of wheels but we eventually got them. I think they sold her wheels before she got back up there and had to steal a set off another car at a later date.

The word on the youtube circuit is that something like 1/5 of all vehicles sold in the US are now with a term of 84 months or longer. Combine that with the average transaction price over 50k now, the picture is not pretty, and I assume the Canadian market is similar to a certain extent.

Meanwhile Toyota can't move their American made 22k Corolla and 25k Corolla Crosses.

    Strange world we live in.

But that’s not how inflation works. All products have not increased in price at the same percentage and most of the 4Runner price increase happened all in one year.

there are alot scary numbers out there which you can Google up on your own...

    - percent of personal auto loans currently in arrears/default
    - average APR of outstanding auto loans
    - average monthly car payment
    - average monthly car payment as a percent of total household income
    etc.

That’s a whole other level of insanity and ripping us off. About the only thing good about these new tariffs is that it will potentially screw these companies that recently did crap like this.

I’m sure a lot of people are going to find themselves in over their head. Especially around here where the cost of utilities is skyrocketing. Some people’s monthly utilities bills have gone up by the price of a new car loan and there’s nothing we can do about it.

That's why I don't take the sudden new spontaneous wave of "wah cars are too expensive all of a sudden in 2025" internet international finance and trade experts seriously at all.

If people in fact cared about value more than appearance, they would have noticed the car prices increase since 2021, the 20k-30k Toyotas should be flying off the shelves and dominating the market instead of large high trim pickups and SUVs, the Yaris would still be around, 4Runners wouldn't be routinely over 60k for models with manual seats, and Siennas wouldn't be 50-65k units.

In CA the price of electricity and natural gas have gone up by a factor of 2x over last 5 years, just as the governor wants to ban new production gas cars by 2035.

    They're too busy selling $42,000 Limited Rav4
Try to find one..... EVERY Limited Rav4 within 400 miles of me is pre-sold or has a deposit on it. There is only (1) on a dealer lot today within 600 miles of me that is not sold or has a deposit and its in Tulsa Oklahoma
My mom and dad decided last tuesday they wanted a new Limited Rav4 and it took me 2 hours to find one at a dealer and 12 hours to find a dealer with an allocation that wasnt pre-sold or had a deposit on already. The dealers are marking some of them up thousands over sticker and they are still selling faster than Toyota can build them.
