Yeah, not our first rodeo but thanks for checking. Had to come up and do all this because of the amount of snow the past weeks and now. Been up here shoveling since Thursday just keeping everything clear.

 

I wish this forum let us act like adults, because profanity would be appropriate for this post.

Tahoe National Forest just renewed the closure order for the Foresthill area, through December 31, 2023. An entire fricking year.

F that noise! what is their reasoning? "Public safety"

 

Probably the lawyers worried about liability first, public safety second. Plus people sometimes vandalize the heavy equipment being used to rehab the area.

 

Just like the area off Mormon Immigrant. It was closed all year right up till the end of Sept. Easier to close the forest than to manage it.

 

Yup. That was the reasoning behind last decade's road inventory project. They closed off as many spur roads as they could, citing the inability of forest service staff to easily observe people camping in the forest. Those short little dead end roads often lead to great views, nice campsites, etc. They hate disbursed camping.

 

Hey all, I was told I definitely need a BMC. Is stellarbuilt the best to go to for that in Sac and how much does it normally cost? Any advice is appreciated.

 

They do good work but they are typically expensive (price sometimes fluctuates Ive heard). I would call around and check all options. Some people have had really good luck with Hunters 4x4 in Citrus Heights. Seem like good dudes but I have not done business with them. They also produce their own body mout relocation if you wanted to go more than just a chop

Anyone need the OEM skid plates off my 2020 4runner venture with KDSS? Just kinda faded from the sun. $2 beers.

 

Just got a friend into a '21 4Runner, if you guys see a ok deal on a set of the black TRD rims locally let me know. They cant stand the "Alpha" rims that came on it.

 

I tried Hunters, looks like they are called Patriot now, but haven’t been able to get an estimate yet.
Stellar said $300 and I can get it done in the 22nd so I’ll probably go that route. It seems like a good rate based on the LA threads with a price in there.

Yep! Did the same as you, full RCI but in aluminum. Thought maybe someone can use them, still sitting side of the house fading away if anyone needs it. Thanks Dog.

 

Took a drive out to Bear with the family today. One snow bank had to be over 10’ tall!

 

I am back up in Tahoe shoveling to keep our place standing with all this snow. More coming tomorrow!
