As said before. Someone will have to take into the account of coordinating and shipping that vehicle, pay for an inspection (do you even trust where it's being inspected?), or flying out there, purchasing, price of fuel for the return drive, time they have to take off work and money lost unless they have PTO, taxes their state imposes for buying a vehicle out of state, etc. It's not as easy as just finding a rig for a good price in another state. I've done that multiple times. About 90% of the time it was a wash at the end of the day to buy something local or to get it from another state. The other 10% were good deals and may have been worth it, but those usually get snagged locally before you have time to coordinate any type of inspections across states. You make it sound like it's an easy task?

A one-way rental return (or friend or significant other driving your second vehicle), and a weekend isn't much to ask for especially if you're going to save some cash.

Maybe it isn't the deal itself but instead obtaining a vehicle with no rust; that in itself is worth something.

NOW he is researching it? Sounds like a wishy washy guy. Move onward.

I shy away from rust for sure. Even surface rust if possible
