When researching the Passport you'll prob see complaints about the ZF 9 spd tranny. This transmission has been used for some years by several brands including Jeep and generated complaints about odd shifting behavior etc. However, the ZF in the new Passports was redesigned in 2019 or 2020 and the issue seems to have been fixed. I haven't seen complaints about this new version, and it's been good in my wife's Passport for the short period she's had it. No guarantees of course, but ZF makes some of the best ATs in the business and I'm further comforted by the fact that Honda now specs this tranny in its Ridgeline, which one would expect to be subject to more rough use than the average SUV. My sense is Honda wouldn't have put that tranny in the Ridgeline if they had continued doubts about its reliability. So, again, no guarantees. Just be aware that if you see complaints about this tranny, check the model year in question. If it's before MY 2020 I wouldn't be that concerned.

Carmax and Carvana both offered me $4k more than I paid new in 2019 for my OR. I don't see the benefit of selling it, though, as nothing comparable I could buy could replace it for the same money.
