Burke & Curtis.jpg If you look closely at the photo you can make out a snout of his dog over one shoulder and the dog's tail off one hip to the opposite side.
This is my hangliding buddy "Burke" This photo is circa mid 70's off Torrey Pines California. Dog's name: Curtis "Curtis, the worlds first hangliding dog" Burke built Curtis a harness so he could fly while on Burke's back. I personally had around 200 flights off of Torrey pines, Close to 50 years ago and at least 50lbs. lighter!

Had the opportunity to do a maternity photoshoot for my own family, our second son arrives tomorrow! Lots of setting up shots, using 10-second timer and then running to get in position, haha.

Oh, and I just couldn't resist ending the session with a funny food-baby shot...had my wife close her eyes so she had no idea what I was doing.

Took these this past Saturday while working the home football for Ole Miss. If you're familiar with William Faulkner, then you know that in that part of the world, he's a household name. Sadly, I was NEVER a Faulkner fan (heresy in these parts). But I did think this was pretty interesting. It's a collage of Faulkner made out of linen.

And on the way to Oxford, got these early sunrise photos at Sardis Dam:

I think as a kid, we really don't realize all the variations there are in birds. I do remember always wanting to see a hummingbird as a kid, and finally saw my first one at age 30 or so.

Amazing creatures ... we only have one species on the east coast but love sitting on the deck in the evening and watching them. Very territorial over the three feeders we have and even the flowers we've planted for them.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
When I was a kid, I had always wanted to see lightning bugs. For some reason, they didn't seem to exist in the redwood forests I lived in. The San Francisco Bay Area. Looked alot like the Forest Moon of Endor. Then I joined the Marines, and got sent to Millington, Tn. for my first set of schools. The base had a huge grinder area, and it was knee deep in the flashes of the lightning bugs! I was in heaven, and spent night after night running around under the trees on the grinder, chasing, and catching, the poor little bugs. I would watch a caught bug for a few minutes, then turn it loose, and go chasing after another one.

Needless to say, eventually a Shore Patrol team caught ME one night. Ruined the whole thing. They made me go back to the barracks and go to bed. But I would still go out and watch the bugs. I would just tell the Shore Patrol types I was going to the Club, or to the Barracks, depending on how late it was.

    have fun,all!
    Pat

    Squash'em?
They're gone now. No Katydids anymore. Just crickets, but, there are frogs calling almost like spring time.
