I believe the increase in performance is only with premium. I was told the newest tune they have can adjust to regular and premium (assuming it’s done through timing advance and the knock sensor).

The biggest quality of life improvement is the transmission remapping. The stock software is really mushy and is optimized for driving comfort and gas mileage. The remap lets you hold gears way more easily with your foot position, which is something that’s harder to do in the stock form.

The new shifts are firmer so you’ll feel the engine rock around a bit more but firmer quicker shifts are actually less wear on the transmission.

Peak performance is obviously with 91+ Octane. However there are still gains to be had on our calibration even with 87/88 octane "regular" fuel.

Good to know! It certainly felt plenty powerful going up the 5 near Grapevine last week.

Definitely not worth it, now the 3rd gen tacoma was such a pos as far as transmission and engine it was necessary

How else would you propose gaining 10% more torque for roughly $25/ft-lb?

For reference, a supercharger is over $130/ft-lb gained.

Also it’s not just peak power. It looks like there’s an increase across all RPM ranges.

    I don’t notice because I drive super slow…
