It's an ok look and purely subjective, I removed mine briefly to install sliders. It adds the illusion of height without them.

I would remove mine as I was gonna on my 2012 FJ BUT the wife is 5'4" short legs & likes them. So when this 4Runner came W/them had to leave them on. I do like they add a little more protection from crap kicked up from frt tires & when I dry it after washing helps a little too. Had sliders on my ex Tacoma

I had 20˚Cali-Raised sliders, overkill though, never really hit trails where I'd need them. I sold them and then found some OEM runners that someone was giving away. Once the kids are old enough to not need them, I'll pay it forward to the next person, or the trash.

I’m probably removing them. If I don’t like the way it looks, I’m going to order the GoRhino rb10 slim.

I’m in a similar situation, except my wife relies on my N-Fab steps, so for now they will stay. If that wasn’t a factor then I would prefer the “naked” look. Being honest with myself, I can’t justify the expense and weight of real sliders.

I just ordered some. Justification was my family is vertically challenged. Grand Baby is 5 and she is very independent, and likes to get into truck on her own. Too bad no grab handles for back passengers at seat level around pillar.
But, 4 family member have a bit of a stretch to get in. My 2012 Liberty, and 2008 Silverado leveled had them too.
This is not my vehicle, but it helped me decide too, as its same Nightshade as mine, which has limited amount of clearance with running boards.

    Grab handles?

    Here’s one solution.

Wisconsin has plenty of winter to go around, after 2 yrs of winter, I've seen plenty of chips, but no rust.. they are aluminum. So someday, without warning they will just fall apart! When the Toyota predator steps get close to a piece of gravel, they chip! We have a friend that does powder coating and if or when we decide to sell, we'll go them powder coated.

I bought the RSGs back in December or the new truck. Same as others, helps shorter wife get in and I just step over them. Figured some protect from the parking lot door dings and rock if/when I get to a rough trail.
This week however, I cut it too short turning into a Denver parking lot and clipped the steel post! Felt it hit and then pushed over - sliders hit, kick out pushed truck over - exactly how sliders should work.
Yellow stripe on sliders with couple minor dents where initial hit was and then on kick out.= - No body or rear rim/tire damage :woot:
Paid for themselves trail running or mall crawling - shout out to RSG for a great product.
BTW: the powder coating held up well, couple minor scratches (once I got the yellow paint scrubbed off :itllbuffout:- elbow grease, old green scrub pad, and Hoppes gun cleaner ;)) Mineral spirits wouldn't touch the yellow.
