Sorry about the damage. Looks like you got things going your way now. Also some good backstory information in the comments.

Just going to use my insurance (farmers) and let them hash it out with falcon. I haven’t had issues with falcon yet, but shops are less than receptive in wanting to deal with them

I got dinged on my insurance for a bit after someone sideswiped me. Had to call and dispute the extra charges I was getting for an accident that wasn’t my fault.
Took about 3 months to get my rig repaired, then took another 4-5 or so months for my insurance to get reimbursement for the repairs and then some for diminished value from the other party’s insurance.

Unfortunately an accident is an accident here in Texas and even if you’re not at fault, it will be on your record. I was rear ended and it stayed on my record and increased my rates for 3 years

    Damn right!!!!
I think about how many new vehicles I could have bought with the premiums I have paid. Never placed a claim either.
It's criminal. Just like big Pharma!!!

My insurance is like $100 a year, full coverage. Insured for what I paid for it 22 years ago. No claims.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
My lovely wife was talking with my ins company, Nationwide, and it turns out THEY'RE supposed to check your credit rating once a year or so. As your credit rating goes up, your rates go down! We got them to drop ours a couple hundred per year, since they hadn't checked our credit rating in 15 years plus. No claims in almost 25 years or so. Not since we got rear-ended by a kid not paying attention.

Give em a call, if you haven't had a chat with them lately, and tell them to check your credit rating. It may help. May not, too. Who knows, but heck, can't hurt to try.

    Good luck to you!

So, my insurance came back with an absolute pitiful quote wanting most things repaired instead of replaced. I’ll just say their quote was 5k under what other person’s company quoted.

I finally made room in the garage and got her in there to look at things. Going to try and squeeze a few more bucks from other person’s insurance and fix it myself. Not too bad of damage. Gonna take the opportunity to upgrade to a full bumper and suspension. Maybe have her done by november - December with lead times :(

Some asshole smashed into my wife about 2 1/2 years ago when she was yielding for a fire truck, because everything in California is always on fire, and his GEICO insurance didn’t want to pay a damn thing.

Our AAA insurance said since it’s his fault they don’t want to pay a damn thing.

    I hate insurance.

Other person’s insurance is less than reliable and local shops don’t want to deal with them so I started going through my insurance (farmer’s) and their quote was a joke. Now, my insurance will likely pay for anything the shop were to request, where the other company won’t (what the shops say). Other company actually put a ton of stuff on the virtual estimate.

the fella at the collision center vented to me today about how much he hates insurance and has 2 years to retire and not sure if he’ll make it. When I met him, he was an asshole and I could tell he was burnt out. I can see why now.

I am happy with the estimate from other insurance company and its enough to get me full king or fox suspension and a full front bumper lol

Consider Bilstein 8112/8100's if you have the extra coin.

Best coilover set-up on the market for our trucks, IMO.

I looked at those awhile ago and along with king they were a long time out but I will check again. Thanks for the reminder. I’m a fox fan but love what I’ve seen on those new bils and honestly forgot about them

I still say, get a decent lawyer, and let HIM do all the work. One that is a specialist in car wrecks. I got lucky, when the Little Old Lady pulled out in front of my bike and I took a short, but exciting, flight one afternoon on the way to work. The guy I got we selected because he was high up in the phone book. Name of Bart Baker. Just a lucky name for both of us. He came out to my house, and took pictures of my injuries, my shattered arm and road rash like a mother. He took pictures of what was left of my bike in the junk yard, too. When we went to court, because she didn't want to pay since I had sworn at her in several languages for a while, laying on the hot pavement with a large, I mean LARGE motorcycle cop holding my helmet.
At court, the judge, a fellow Marine, laughed at her excuses, and threw her out, after ordering her to pay double what my lawyer asked for. $125,000.00! Darn decent of him, I thought. :D Turned out he had interviewed a bunch of cops who had been either IN the Baskin Robbins ice cream place right on the corner she pulled out of, as well as several who were on their way to it. It was shift change, and BR was right across the street. There were cops all over the place when she nailed me. Serves her right.

Anywho, a good lawyer can not only save you a ton of aggravation dealing with insurance companies, not to mention the other humans involved. I really felt that 1/3 was a small price to pay him for all he did for me. It may be too late in the process for a lawyer to help you and Ol' Blue, but hey, it might be worth it after all, I don't know.

After 3 major motorcycle wrecks, and one with my pickup, I call him Little Truck, that's just my thoughts. A decent lawyer can be a big plus on your team. Decent to you, a real di...err...jerk.. to the other side :D

Lawyers are not the solution, they are the problem. Your insurance co and the other guy can always “lawyer up” bigger than you.

    All of them.
Before you lawyer up just remember a quote isn’t a final decision. Toyota quoted us 3k more than our insurance adjuster did. But once they got it in the shop and pulled it apart our adjuster changed the quote to match Toyota’s. He was open and very honest during the whole thing. He explained they can’t go off what the shop says until they see what the shop mentions in the repair. Things like clips, moldings that can be replaced etc so your insurance may be doing the same thing. Once it’s in there and they see oh he definitely needs a new fender clip here and there etc that number changes quick. In our case our quote went up even higher when the guy from Toyota pulled my wife’s back glass out to salvage it and then dropped it and shattered it. So they had to replace the window plus pay to have it re tinted etc

Once you get an attorney involved, be prepared to have the insurance company completely ignore you and communicate through their attorney to your attorney.

And be prepared for your attorney charging you for every phone call, email, and fax they get from the insurance company.

This sucks. I am sorry. I had a sign (those tiny signs that advertise things) fly into the rod and puncture my other vehicle (model S). Cost us $9100.
