Chalk it up to the prepper mentality. TBH though I’m only about a six on the paranoia scale.

It's quite ridiculous that you have to study the law in each individual state to know if you're about to break a state law that seems to upend something enshrined in the bill of rights. I don't typically condone the federal government trampling states rights but when it comes to laws that seem fly in the face of the bill of rights, I wish there was some consistency across all the states. You know, as if they had accepted them and abide by them as part of the agreement to join the union of states

But probably completely legal (I'm not a lawyer and not offering financial advice). This seems a prime example of integrity - not something everyone possess anymore

Nothing wrong with being prepared. I prefer to be called "cautious" rather than "paranoid".

I used to think I was paranoid, borderline conspiracy theorist, when it came to technology. Then I majored in software security and minored in cybersecurity. Although the risks are low for individual users, I quickly realized the threat is real. Mainly due to the complete mishandling of personal and sensitive information being data mined and insecurely stored by companies - who are regular targets

Didn't you know? The little bit of chrome burns their retinas and makes them go blind. At least thats what some of them says.
I dont know how they drive but the chrome emblem on my steering wheels has never blinded me.

As for the exterior, you don't think how the SR5 or TRD overlays look like a weird shape from far?
What about the black hole it creates when the emblems are covered?

Ya know what really grinds my gears?

My tendency to respond to people here without really thinking about what they mean, and make myself sound like a fucking idiot. I know it's my own fault, but it does grind my gears. :anonymous:

Those are the better ones offered. I just altered the image to make it look like a non Toyota person was looking at it from far. Can't see details from far so it's just a weird black shape.

    I've also seen worse.
Something like BMW emblems where it's just a smooth circle but the owner paints it black just for the sake of black out.
Turns it into a black dot on the car.

Just ran to the grocery and this thread came to mind

A Prius was ahead of me and parked in a normal spot and I parked next to them in a compact (last one available on the aisle).

    them: You aren’t compact
    Me: You are
Them: I can park wherever I want
    Me: me too
    Them: you shouldn’t park there
    Me: You should’ve

What really pissed me off was that they told me I had to take possession of the bags or don't fly home, I told them it was not my choice to fly here and this was not part of my origianl flight booking. So it is up to you to transfer my bags to my final destination on my re-booked flight I was to the point I would have booked my own flight and leave my bags as giving up a $450 Glock 19 would have been cheaper that all the legal shit I would have possibly been in.....

    I'm sure it's a matter of opinion.

For someone in a mountain of student loan debt (or possibly any student loan debt), I'd be surprised if they weren't 100% for it and will vote for anyone talking about doing it.

Personally, because I worked full time and paid as I went so I didn't have to take on debt, I find it a slap in the face to myself and others who made responsible decisions. It wasn't easy to work full time, have your first kid, and go back to school as an adult but it was the right decision. It probably doesn't help that I've heard stories of other people's classmates that used their student loans to buy cars (maybe a smart decision if interest rate was lower), pay for off campus apartment rentals, furnish those apartments with nice TVs and furniture, and for vacations like spring break. In their defense (I know one of them), they don't complain about their debt and have been paying it off. But I bet they wouldn't hesitate to have taxpayers foot the bill should it be offered on a silver platter

I was considered "paranoid" at one time, until I realized that in my line of work at the time, "They" really were out to get me! That kinda dawns on one when the rounds start whizzing by overhead.

It jusst sort of stayed with me, and has saved my tail on more than one occasion. Call me what you will, I'm still hobbling along, and there are more than one who're not.

Grinds my gears? I guess people driving at a speed or in a certain way that is 'above' their skill level and endangering others. people do not 'work' at honing driving abilities/skills it seems. Skills/abilities are not sold with the vehicle... you have to continually 'work' at it. 3.5 million safe driving miles in commercial vehicles has taught me that little tid-bit. Let's be safe out there!

Grinds my gears? People who hit cars in a parking lot and then take off.

Was in a parking lot yesterday punching something into GPS when I heard a crunch. Looked up and saw someone pulling into the parking space in front and adjacent to me. They stopped after they pulled into the space (looking like they parked and were about to get out) and I waited for a second to see if their busted ass car was just making noises or if they really hit the other car while pulling into the space.

Then before I could react they quickly drove past me (parking space beside me was open) and left the parking lot as fast as possible. It was then I could see they clearly scraped the shit out of the quarter panel of the other car as they pulled in and then left without a trace

Oh, you mean those assholes who will move into the passing lane so they don't have to slow down for merging traffic, meanwhile everyone in the passing lane has to slow down for them?

Or, the assholes who hang out in the passing lane going barely faster than the people in the right lane?

Or... Ahh, nevermind. There's too much to list.

Very well said. What’s really sad is that there is no requirement to teach students the constitution or bill of rights from the beginning of their education. How many times have you heard someone say “second amendment rights” when the second amendment provides no rights, but rather protections of the rights delineated elsewhere as unalienable. That really grinds my gears.

There’s no such thing as rights. They are a figment. A social construct. Especially with the current interpretation of the Establishment Clause and the separation of church and state, which apparently takes the stance that the government cannot acknowledge the existence of God in any way. If rights are endowed to us by our Creator, and yet there is no Creator, then officially speaking where do the rights come from?
